I went high(expensive) talent so there are a few cheap players plying only 3 games. Had to put Vanek on the team as he has a huge week in fantasy IMO.

Just grabbed some random Vanek jersey off the web to use as an image. It is an old style.

Moulson will be the guy in front of the net banking the pucks in goal. If rebounds are there, he will clean them up, which is his best part of his game.

Vanek adds another presence to Isles bc Vanek can go in front of net also, plus has a good shot from blue line in.

Moulson is a class act, blue collar guy, but unfortunately his down fall is his lack of speed and D

was this move done to further convince Miller to just give up and move? This move makes us worse in the short term.. Moulson being slow and not anywhere near as talented just ensures we will never win two in a row this season

from what i have heard this is a weak draft.. if we wanted to make this move it shoudl have been last season or just prior to the draft. that would have been better

A 1st round pick from a team that will finish in the top 16 or 17 in the league equates to a potential 4th line player in the draft IMO...... Why is everyone wetting their pants over these picks? They will not turn out to be the stud players this team needs.....

Vanek and his agent were all about the money before and he was not going to sign here anyhow

buy out leino

then hire a real gm

unless they can some how trade that #1 for somethign that is useful i am on the fence. I guess we could also trade Moulson at the deadline to a contender looking for another player. But i am not holding my breathe on that

It sounded to me (well based on his presser anyways) like Regier will use the pick(s) to move up or acquire NHL ready talent. Even in a "weak draft" 1st round picks are still valuable.

I know it's a simple minded way of looking at it but with 6 1sts in 3 years the sabres have done 6 years of rebuilding in 3 (pending a franchise player). After that you can start wheeling and dealing to make your team competitive as oppose to sitting on your picks and hoping that they'll cover up for the fact that you haven't drafted a competent defensemen in several years *cough* edmonton *cough"

The train wreck of a season just got worse. Moulson is no way as good as Vanek.
The first will be about 15 th pick when all said and done. See that kid in about 2017.

i think this move makes it easier to move Miller.. he might be more willing to waive his NTC now in order to go somewhere where they care about having a real hockey team
