Not 100% sure but I thought he said it this summer meaning that it was on the table

Tell 21 to keep his head up, the Bruins can do no wrong so it doesn't matter.

Bruins have had their share of poop and suspensions, and I'm not gonna go into the whole Scott thing again, the Bruins have done their share of stupid things and I've called them on it when it happens.

GREAT trade for you guys......wtf was snow thinking with this?
- TheMike12

I'm an isles season ticket holder and basically 5 on 5 moulson is pretty terrible. He doesn't skate well or play defense at all. Isles get hemmed in a lot in their own zone and he's a big reason why. With a transition and fast skating team, Vanek fits in that mold a lot better than moulson who was demoted to 3rd line 5 on 5 this year.

I love Matt Moulson. He's all class. Gave his heart to the islanders and It sucks he's gone. He certainly can bury the puck and clean up the garbage in front of the net. But the islanders are a much better team with Vanek playing with Tavares.

The isles aren't exactly a free agent destination and this was the only way to acquire a stud winger to play with Tavares. The islanders have Strome,Lee,Pulock,Mayfield,DeHann,Reinhardt, just to name a few prospects that aren't on the big club yet so giving up these picks really won't hurt them long term. They are loaded with prospects.

So I think it's safe to say the isles were looking for a elite wing to play with Tavares, had the chance to get him without mortgaging the future and went for it knowing most players that play here the last 5 years end up staying long term.

So that's what snow is thinking. Good luck trying to stop the isles top two lines.

Makes sense... As long as u can sign him...
Playing with Tavares certainly won't hurt your chances
I doubt Moulson will wanna re-sign here
I see us trading him at the deadline

Vanek hasn't exactly been spectacular for us the past few years either, especially this year. Though you won't find many better players to get the puck to on a breakaway that's for sure. Just watch, you'll be amazed how often he scores in shootouts for you.

Stafford is probably sitting at home wondering why nobody wants to "play with him" when it comes to trades.

Not bad. I would have preferred Nelson or Strome. If they parlay Moulson for a prospect or pick at the TD, cool. I get the sense Miller to Edm next.
- mhp

I agree. Have to admit I was a bit surprised that Moulson is also 29 years old and a UFA. At first, I thought this is a great trade for Buffalo, but once I found out more about Moulson I thought it was a good trade. Moulson gets a try out for a few months and Buffalo can gauge whether he will resign, if not he is moved at the deadline for a pick or prospect.

Yeah I thought he was a bit younger as well, he could regress here in buffalo, no guarantees, I guess all we can do is hope the islanders, bomb out and we land another primo first rounder. Added a bit of spice to the rest of the season.

While to a certain extent I understand it, but Vanek has been playing half assed this year and effort level is way down. He never lived up to the contract, although I'm not sure that 5 additional first round picks would have be done any better given how the Oilers have done... Good luck TV. I hope Minny signs him, I don't think that lineup can win a cup though - my guess is that we will find out!

Moulson's agent said his client is suicidal and most likely will not report to Buffalo.
What the hell do you think he's gonna say!?!

I'd put him on the first line with Coho and the Gringo

First team pp for sure

He plays down low and bangs a bit. Not afraid to go in the corner and get the puck.

His speed is slow and his D is average at best.

He always has been an overachiever though, one thing I like about him

Just set up my HBSL roster. Only 4 players playing less than 4 games on my roster.

That move might could worry the rest of the team (or give them hopes) that they could be moving out soon.

They definitely got slower with that trade. Moulson is a slug.
