I'm not sure, but I feel like Moulson is more consistent from game to game than Vanek is. Vanek will get 20 points in 5 games and then disappear for 20. Last year alone Moulson's biggest point drought was 2 games.

Never said he was bad. He's not close to being bad. In fact he's closer to great. Like I have said . I used to love Vanek. I just am not fond of him anymore

I think he just get tired of being tired, I know that sounds strange but he might have figured we would be farther along now then we are even with new ownership. Seeing big name players go one after the other and Pommer leaving maybe he figured enough was enough.

Then they made him captain and I got to watch him loaf around on the ice for the last 12 games. I hated the decision to make him captain, especially since this is a young and impressionable team. I felt that his leadership style was to show the young guys that coasting and being completely uninterested in anything going on was OK.

What did it for me was a few years ago. Not taking the C and the. Disappearing when the Sabres went on that historic run after the All Star break. He went missing basically and this team was winning. That's when I figured he could be traded and we could benefit

Also free's up some cap space if they want to make another deal, Darcy mentioned that the picks he got in the deal or picks they have won't have to be used at the draft.

IMO I would have like to see him with a number 1 center, everytime I watched Vanek skate it looked like he wasn't even moving. I guess he wasn't a very fast skater but was a good goal scorer.
