I just listened to Darcy's presser, the picks we have in the deal or the picks we already have can be used to improve the team this year and not necessarily at the draft.

Vanek was very well liked here. He had a great career here and I don;t think anyone would have any hard feelings for him.

I think it will be a divided fan base but time heals all wounds. We hated Hasek for what he did at first but as time passes we want his number in the rafters. Vanek will be discussed as one of the Sabres best goal scorers but that's it

He isnt gonna take that kind of discount just to play in Minny. If Minny offers him big money theyre gonna be in trouble trying to ice a competive defense in the future. I think the Isles pick could be used for acquiring a player. They will wait till the deadline to have a better idea of where that pick will land. If they are out of a playoff spot I think we are keeping it.
