As bad as people like to poop on Letang, Green, Karlsson, Subban, etc. for being bad defensively, they aren't really that bad. They're average to better than average defenders but they aren't bad.

Instead of being a (frank)ing retard like Edler and try and shoot the puck so hard it goes through people, OEL takes some heat off and just wrists it to make sure it doesn't get blocked so the other team doesn't break out 3-on-1 because Edler is stupid.

Yeah, neither are great at the meat and potatoes but they defend well enough off the rush and do a good job at breaking up passing lanes. You can power through both guys if you play a more of a power offence but you don't have a lot of teams out east that run that type of offence.
