Phlips too. Tim Hortons cant hire all of them. Only a few though. Wal-Mart is below even their dignity.

What dignity is that??? Like society is fuct... If you dont have money you work... irregardless of job... or you work in a job until a better one opens up later... too much entitlement in society now...

I dont agree with the entire comment above... There is respect for those that at least try to work... Those (frank)ers that do not have a disability but dont want to work that are on welfare are more of a concern to me... IMO those useless and lazy people that collect welfare cheques should go and pick garbage for at least 10 hrs a month in the community and ditches... but no... why make anyone earn their way in life
- saskoil21

There's a few that I'm okay with. But there are far too many capable people that could get real jobs and not complain about hard it is to make a living.

I never did understand this comment. You quote me, and there is nothing below. The above seems unnecessary.

The guys who work just enough hours in the oil field and collect unemployment for the rest of the year piss me off.

I'd usually be the guy to say that, but I'm judging based on his style of play... Positionally he was fantastic and he was very athletic... Plus he was calm as (frank). It didn't look like a fluke to me. I'm mostly basing it off of the attributes I noticed tonight.

EXACTLY.

Sure, I'm not crowning Bachman but I like how he played. Agressive, he challenged, he wasn't the robotic automaton that Dubnyk has been at times.

I know Dubs sports an above average SV% in the past couple years playing behind one of the worst D's in the league----this is why most of us have held out hope and defended him against the naysayers. But I have never really liked his style. And frankly more then half the goalies in the league play that way.

Fukk I hope Bach is the real deal. Apparently a guest on the Pipeline show this past Saturday was touting him, saying that: all this guy needs at this point is a shot.

This reversal of fortune would be so welcome, so needed.

Healthy ankle or not I really hope they start Bachman again vs. the Leafs.

The one thing that I picked up the most from the game was Jones scrapping. Real nice to see he has confidence now.

Totally.

Last night was character point. I know they were outplayed. But they should hang they're heads high. Lots of hits out there and sticking up for each other.
A little lazed on the back to back but all in all a character point.

poop, if Eberle wasn't out there I wondered if it was possible to get a puck anywhere near the net.

Depends on the province you're in, I guess... In NL, I know lots of people who are working at Walmart and have teaching degrees, engineering degrees, business degrees, nursing degrees etc because there aren't many higher paying jobs available... And the higher paying jobs that are available have so many candidates applying, it's incredibly difficult to land that job... Often times it comes down to who you know here.

And don't believe what you hear about NL... The statistics about the economy being great here is a joke. NL is great for about 5% of the population... The other 95% is living at or near the poverty line. The government is constantly bragging about job creation, but what they don't tell you is that 99% of those jobs that are being created are part-time fast food/retail jobs.

NL is a joke, and Dunderdale needs feces thrown at her face.

it was a valiant effort. they worked hard all night.

but the difference in size and depth was astounding. we just couldn't really do much.
that team is in another class.

and it really bugs me to still be saying that bs in year 4 of our rebuild. we should be a fair ways ahead of where we're at

haha yeah, I want him to start if for no other reason thatn it's actually the only interesting thing about this team right now!

That and building some character, I thought there was evidence of that last night.

Also, Petry had a few nice hits and hes is really impressing me. Rangy, good stick. Gettin better man.

this doesnt even mean anything/ like how? he doesn't care? he wasn't freaking out when he was struggling? what do you mean urgency?

he played terribly for 3 or 4 and then has played very solid for 3.
I don't know about the urgency, but I think the most important part was bouncing back. which hes done so far

- hugefemale dog77

I mean he seems too calm cool and collected...too "ho hum, I'll get the next one" (probably his parents' fault for naming him fkn Devan! lol) Carey Price gets accused of the same thing all of the time.

Dubnyk just sits there, he gets beaten so many time when he is just frozen and doesn't pick up or even see the puck. WHen's the last time you saw him truly give 100% (or the proverbial 110%) on a shot that beat him?

I just don't see the level of compete in him that I think this team needs. I hate "we'll get em next time" attitudes...they are cancer and they spread.

when was the last time we felt comfortable when a few shots were directed at our goalie? been awhile man.

obviously apprehensive to begin the game, but by the 2nd and 3rd, you knew at the very least he'd give us a chance. he looked confident and calm out there.

hopefully we've got a guy who can battle with dubs and put some pressure on him to play well every single night or he wont be getting the next games start

Agreed, I guess the deals for size simply haven't been there. Or I can only assume. Perhaps that's coming with Mac-T. You know, maybe last night is proof you don't need to be bigger if you play with heart and tenacity. Ah fukk, we all know a little more size in our top six will help.

(Inner Dialogue lol)

Anyway, yeah, impatience reigns. Still maturing depth wise. Last night was nice glimpse actually to little bit of that physical push back.

Society is all about social status and it's a shame that some of the hardest working people don't get treated very well.

That been said I wanna be rich as (frank). I love old classic cars and they ain't cheap. But I learned the only way you can buy something is work hard for it.

this isn't what Eakins said at all.

he mentioned how dubs didn't pull the feel sorry for himself move. or blame it on anybody else like many would've. he told Eakins to put him back in and that he'd get it together. which he did. Eakins said he loved his attitude since playing badly.

and all this about 'urgency' and 'wanting it' etc are just sports clichés. those comments really have no basis in fact as we don't know what he did behind closed doors. how do you measure urgency? because he didnt go a rant in front of the media?

and I don't know what you mean by 100%. like you don't think he's trying his hardest? what has given you any indication of this? because his playing style isn't floppy and reckless like a tim Thomas' you assume hes not trying??
he's by the book, technical and kinda robotic. that his style. good or bad, I don't think it has anything to do with compete level.

all I care about is that he played well after playing poorly.

he certainly has some deficiencies in his game, but im not ready to give up on him.

TBH if Dubnyk does not play well this year I dont know that he is an Oiler next year to say the very least... If Bachman continues this impressive play- Dubnyk like Bachman will both be fighting for NHL jobs... as for Labarbara- well he can go LaByeBye

This misnomer that the government creates jobs is a slippery slope. I really don't believe they should but that is perhaps more of a philosophical point.

To my mind, at best they need to create a better landscape for job creation but poop man I understand it's super tough out there, just the natural economic landscape or lack thereof, is difficult.
