This team and the idiots who run it, need to be exposed to the masses. I hope the Kings set an NHL record tonight and destroy the Oilers 30-0... I want this on sites like Ebaumsworld, Digg, Reddit etc etc so people who don't even know what hockey is, will see how big of a joke we really are.

You're kidding yourself... Kevin Lowe "knows a thing or two about winning"... Those guys think they're better than they are, that's the problem. They need to be embarrassed worldwide... Not just on NHL.com or TSN/Sportnet... If the Oilers lose tonight by 30-0, I'd be incredibly happy, because it would be good for the future of the team.

It's not like the team is a total loss. They have some great players that just needs a few more key players and they will be right back in this thing. Sure the management haven't made bold moves to improve this team over night but they've tried. Each summer they make decent pitches to UFAs but always end up being bridesmaids. Also, they have tried to make a few trades to improve but they get nixed by the player because of a NTC or the other GMs are asking a ridiculous price just because the Oilers are desperate. Sooner or later, UFAs will want to come to Edmonton and they will be back near the top again.

5 or 6 years ago, nobody had a reason to want to come play in Edmonton. The Pronger fiasco was fresh in the minds of all UFAs and the team had nothing to look forward. It wasn't hard to tell that this team was going to end up with lottery picks for a few years; nobody wants to play for a team with no hope.
Now it's different. They have young stars with potential, UFAs will start coming.

I honestly don't remember the Oiler's throwing so many pucks blindly up the ice like this last year or their positioning to be so routinely awful. Last year they just lost battles all the time which led to people over-covering in position. This year they're out of position before that.

it's still nothing more than hope. we will not sign impact vets until we actually start winning. which we have no indication will happen.

and we have to actually get the 'key' players to get back in this thing. and again, we have no indication that management will do anything and we may have another lost season.
and if that does continue to happen, don't be too surprised if it actually goes the other way and these kids start wanting out.

I think other gm's may not have neccasarily been asking for ridiculous prices. but unwilling to move someone they view as quality for anything less than that in return. which means no thanks to hemsky or to marincin. we want yakupov or eberle.
and im guessing we haven't been willing to trade one of the kids we covet so much.
a lot of people trashed the fuk out of clouts for his ridiculous amounts of 'untouchables" and his stupid use of that word on prospects. but I think he was probably closer to the truth than a lot of oiler fans might care to believe. at least in terms of managements eyes.
