Too bad for Moulson. Not going to be scoring at the same pace when he doesn't have Tavares feeding him the biscuit. Though he likely only has to suffer in Buffalo for this season.
- prd797

Yeah his points will definitely go down. Buffalo is such a mess now, but I think they could have a great future. They have a Great future blueline. Enroth isn't that old. And they have some good, young forwards in Hodgson, foligno, griggs, Girgensons, armia, and a few others. They need some real leaders

The issues are consistently the same....They will be called legitimate problems in the eyes of most when they start costing points. That time could be coming soon as the schedule won't be any easier than it has been.

...And it is more than Seabrook, when the Hawks can't pass they play a lot slower....The last two games they looked really slow at times.

>Well said, Hawks moving themselves and the puck glacially slow far too much
>Seems that teams are consistently sending two forecheckers right at the Hawks Dman with the puck in his own zone with a third forechecker also in the Hawks zone
>That "attack" should be easily broken and turned into odd-man breaks more often than it causes turnovers against
>Other teams also "jumping" the D to D pass behind the Hawks net with great regularity -- just sloppy "unengaged" play lately
>Saad, Kruger, Leddy have NOT been very good -- so it's not just the old guys

Kane and Crawford for Miller and John Scott
- prd797

Kane and Crawford may get you Scott but I can't see them putting Miller in a package with Scott.

I was afraid that would be the case. I think the Hawks could manage to get both by also throwing in three firsts and conditionally add Jonathan Toews' eventual first-born child into the equation.

Back from a fun afternoon in Rockford. IceHogs won 4-2 with goals from LeBlah, McNeill, A Broadhurst and Dahlbeck (en).

Raanta looked good in goal, especially considering he spent a good part of the game under siege. I don't know the final SOG number, but at one point late it was 47-30 Texas.

Most of the players I wanted to watch were kinda meh. The only forward that really impressed me was Shalunov. That kid has some game. Dahlbeck is solid as well. Eli described him to me as Hammer Lite and I can see where he gets the comparison.

I talked a bit with one of the IceHog stat guys in the parking lot on the way out. I asked about Danault at the dot and he said he's been sub 50% in all of the home game they've played. He also told me that Svedberg hurt his shoulder in the game and will likely miss some time.

It was nice meeting those that were there and I hope we can do it again with a larger turnout some day.

The Hawks tried to do a similar deal with Sharp's first born male child, but Buffalo backed off after the second daughter was born, not liking their odds.

So much for the Kane getting trade to Buffalo for Vanek pipe dream.

Scott is a game changer so it may be a deal the Hawks should consider

I know Moulson benefited by playing with Tavares and is slow as molasses, but is Vanek really worth Moulson and two first round draft picks?

Yes to the Islanders who have one elite forward and now get another very good one....IF HE CAN BE RESIGNED.

What could we trade to get a "How to win a face off " instructional video, or even better a weekend conference or break out session on winning draws?

I see this as a bad trade for the Isles. I don't think they are close enough to be giving away multiple firsts.

Some players can improve a lot on faceoff skills and some not so much...

System is loaded and rated high.....it's always tough giving up firsts. However, they are entering the next phase where the post season is the expectations. They still don't have a goalie....which I think is the next move. Maybe Miller or one of the goalie from Anaheim...

They are close to being a playoff team now....They have held onto almost every prospect the last few years....Time to add.

It takes more than one elite player to win the Cup...Tavares is the real deal and now they could have found a really good #2. The goalie is concern but that will come.

didn't read but just a few quick posts at the beginning, missed the game & info yesterday, looks like we called up a couple of more step & fetches for the bottom 6 "shuttle", JMO , should of kept carbomb instead . he wouldn't look so bad with shaw & saad instead of some of the others Q has been trying there. I mean he's good enough to play with Ritchie & Carter out in LA, (and playing well) but not good enough to play with Saad & Shaw? ... Morin, Hayes, Mills, ect....., I'm keeping Carcillo.

Good time in Rockford - unless you were in line to see the Cup - not sure it ever ended.

Nice building - very loud, doesn't seem to be a bad seat. Rockford fans are very loud, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

Raanta was first star of the game - very deservedly - gave up two scrum-hack-'n'-whack goals early in the first, but calmly shut them down the last 50 minutes - 46 saves, I think. He was really excited, skating out after the game when he was announced as first star - skated all around, slapped his stick on the ice, smiled waiving at the crowd....

Let's do this again. Thank you, Eli for putting it all together.

Though I didn't attend the party, more than a polite golf chap for Eli.
