Gelly an assist and was a key part of the green goal finishes a +3

He made a few more mistakes tonight but that's to be expected playing a much tighter defensive team. What's very impressive about him is that he recovers from his mistakes very well and never seems panicked. Just think we might have one just as good still in Albany

I know its pretty awesome. Kid is smart big and mobile I also liked the one time where he went to fire it off the boards and out like most or d then just held onto it that extra second and the Bruin player circled away and he skated it out past the blue line and passed it to Brunner very smart play instead of firing it out for the other team to get it.

Wonder who goes out next game on D for Salvador returning. Someone has to be sent down also I think. Time for Teddy to get waived I guess. Those 1 way deals for Teddy and Josefson really back fired on Lou. Trying to get a lower cap hit but it hurts their development not playing. Josefson still has potential...

doubt we carry 8dmen, so its going to be gelinas and lou will say its due to numbers game

i hope its harrold that goes down

but that doesnt really answer the question, if (really hope) gelinas stays up what will our D look like?
sal-volch
greene-zid
larsson-gelinas

but then we all know that fayne will get in so larsson will prob come out

After how they played the last two games Pete can't not play Gelinas and Larsson. Waive Harrold and I guess scratch Fayne (I'd rather A-Train but I doubt they would).

Salvador-Zidlicky
Greene-Fayne
Larsson-Gelinas

That would actually be some pretty solid D.

Send Kinkaid down and dress Sal as the back up. Win win for everyone.

24 on roster still though, kink is up on a technicality where we are allowed 24 on roster not 23 due to some goalie 48hr emergency call up

A move has to be made. I think the fans would lose their poop after seeing how well Gelinas has played and Larsson with him to have him be sent back down. I wish someone would come calling Lou for Volchenkov because Fayne is really starting to grow on me.

Lou should trad A-Train and just retain half his salary honestly.

thats the problem though, all our dmen we want gone no one will want

wont trade captain sal
cant trade volcehnkov with 3yrs left on contract and not playing as well as he used to (but i think its because he has been asked to not lay out the big hits and to use his stick more)

well i guess someone might look for zid but unfortunately as bad as it sounds we kinda need him still, he creates offense and well we need offense even though he is a disaster in the D end

wont/cant trade greene, larsson nope, gelinas nope, fayne possibly

Haha I know I was suggesting that we are the best team in the league. It was a joke though so everyone knows because I know tomorrow Ill check in here and ther will be a fan of another team in here commenting on that post with a giant rant ripping me up and saying what a joke of a franchise the Devils are.

Next season we are going to have Greene and Gelinas as full time NHLers on the left side, along with Merill very likely making the jump. Don't think they will want more than 4 of the 7 D men on the roster to be left handed. Think it is almost a sure thing that one of Salvador or Volchenkov get bought out. A-train more likely though because of the amount left on his deal. Have to make room so that Gelinas and Merill can get in full time.

Six stitches, one lost tooth for Brunner on that Krug high stick. Said it was worth it for the win.

yes but remember this is lou, he said if gelinas or merrill play the way onto the roster they will have to make a move, that didnt happen, gelinas only came up due to a death in sal's family, i believe gelinas will be up full time but not sure if they will bring merrill upt oo

With the numbers he's putting up in Albany right now, I'm not sure he can afford not to. Dudes putting up almost a p/g and with Zid gone after this year(Praying that he is) we need someone that is an offensive catalyst like Merrill is

Also gotto say it is amazing how underrated Andy Greene is. The guy is just so consistent and good all around. Easily our #1 D man.

I can't see Merrill coming up this season due to the numbers, but next season I don't see any reason why he can't make the team if he impresses. Think it will be good for him to get a lot of ice time in Albany and develop his game there. Hasn't played a lot of hockey the last few years.

Larsson-Gelinas
Salvador-Greene
Volchenkov-Zidlicky
Fayne

Send Harrold. Who cares if he gets picked up off waivers.. He's a career #7 and we have Merrill that can be called up of need be.
They'd have to be blind to not see that Larsson-Gelinas is money. Mmmaybe I'd want fayne over Volch or sal, but volch has been hitting and more solid and Salvador is a good bottom pairing guy.. And I doubt they trade the captain. Fayne is great as a #7/fill-in.
Gelinas has been one of our top dmen since the call up. He brings out the best in Larsson too, who seem to thrive with the responsibility of being the veteran on the pairing. They're not the reason we won, but they're a big positive.

That's the type of win you build off of. Not pretty but they got the job done. Good job by everyone on not giving up after a bad period.
