Good game, solid win.

Jake looked fast, some serious jump...but needs to pull his head out of his ass when passing, and that goes for the whole team when trying to break out of our zone.

Simmonds looks like he's waking up, Hartnell was right in the mix, Vinny was great, and both Schenn's looked pretty good with Luke getting over 18 minutes this game. The D was solid and Mason was impressive once again.

I think everybody would agree we need G to get that first goal under his belt, so I was a bit annoyed they weren't feeding him the puck on that last power play we had but were instead dropping it to Lecav so he could try to pump in his 4th. That made no sense to me.

Still, solid win.

YAY indeed. There were some scary moments for sure. Rinaldo could have been Laperrière'd but somehow wasn't. Just like last game Talbot could have been Lindros'd. The fact that both actually came back and played in the games is unreal considering Philadelphia's injury history. I also thought Berube did a nice job - especially in the 3rd period mixing up the Raffl/G/VL line, swapping in Talbot.

I disagree on G needing to score. People seem to forget he's more of a playmaker than a scorer. I'm okay with him just racking up assists. Him and VL seemed to have real good chemistry tonight and if that continues he could very well end up with 50-60 assists this year. Throw in a couple goals and thats a solid year.

Nice complete game tonight, hopefully they keep it up.

Mason's reaction: about time you guys score some goals.

What's a 'couple' goals, 20+? 30+?

I think the expectation, especially considering the length and amount of his new contract, is Giroux both scores and sets up those around him.

I agree. The moment Giroux signed that contract, he signed up to do everything, not just be a set up man.

Not saying he's not trying. I believe he will come around, it's only a matter of time.

I think 25 goals would be more than enough.

I wouldn't argue with that. But we're 10 games in and he has 0, so I just thought they should have fed him the puck on that PP toward the end of the third and let him fire away and try to sink one home. That's all.

Also I gotta say. I realize it's Saturday night. But seriously - the Flyers play a solid road game - score more goals than they have all season on top of actually producing a 2 game winning streak and it's crickets on here. I guess the negative Philly fans only chime in when things are bad.

thinking the same thing...we've waited too long for a normal game to not see some more "way to go" posts....

Yeah I'm excited. Plus the Barclay Center is really nice unlike the abortion that is Nassau Coliseum. Being able to hit up any of the Rock in Newark, MSG and now Barclay Center for Flyers games and still be able to get home at a reasonably decent time is very rad for me.

I agree.

I, for one, thought for sure he was gonna get that elusive 1st goal tonight. And I think he could have on that scrum that resulted in Vinny's 3rd goal. Instead, he made a sweet pass that Vinny slam dunked.

That shows me that he's straightening things out.

He's got points I believe in 3 straight games now. His game looks like it's coming back; he's hitting and battling in the corners and making smart passes. Hasn't tried to force much in the last 2 games.

The goals will come. Really looks to be getting more comfortable out there.

Speaking of getting more comfortable....how bout Jake! Looks like the Jake Scoreacheck circa 2012 with that Jagresque game. When he starts playing like that- playing very strongly on the puck and just driving to the net to make things happen- that tells me he's getting his game back

Speaking again of getting more comfortable....Coots' offensive game is improving. He's also getting very strong on the puck and muscling it to the net. I like it. Let's work on his snap shot now....

The fact that there's a lot of this ==> coming out of this game is a good feeling. Things really came together tonight and if this is the Flyers team we're gonna see for the next 5 months, it's gonna be a fun ride.

Couturier is also getting to be a good faceoff man. Good to see

They are both starting to come around, no doubt. And Couts is finally starting to threaten in the offensive zone, and he's starting to use his size to good advantage. Give these kids another couple years - they still won't be 25 - and they could be dominant.

Its the saturday before Halloween. Lots of parties going on. Its hard to comment on something you missed. Wish I could have watched this one. I'll have to see of I can find a replay somewhere.

Tavares is beastly.
Mason is just fantastic. Giroux is still a bit off. Jake looks to be coming around. Hartnell and Simmonds are still both out of sync. Read has been decent but man what's with the miffed shot attempts. Schenn was solid on the dot but invisible elsewhere. VL looking really good. Nice to score 5 goals - 4 actually against a goalie as well as pot a somewhat lucky PP tally. Nice also to beat a squad that just beat the Pens.

- Pixote Andolini

I thought Hartnell and B Schenn had strong games.

You can see it coming from both of them. Couturier was fantastic last night.

We need to trade everyone for a #1 scoring winger.
Laughton is nothing more than a 4th liner.
It's all Coburn's fault.

He will. Heck, in Forsberg's first season here, he didn't score until game 8, and that was on a team that had played much better than this one through its first 6-8 games. Now that they seem to have finally figured something out (skating and working hard = good things), I think he'll start to pot a few.

They're undefeated since I got to Key West, just sayin....

From what I can remember of it, they looked pretty good last night. However I missed large chunks of the game due to checking out girls in body paint!

In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven't, the Flyers have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.
