Has your son been secretly posting on this site? I like him and his idea.

Seriously, liking what I am seeing from Bickell lately. He seems to have settled in and is finding the back of the net again. If he consistently remembers to go to the front of the net he'll score bunches.

I can't get a way from it........My answer to him was....."NO"

There is something to be said about the pressure of a big money contract. He seems be getting some consistency......3 goals in 3 games....

6-1-3 is pretty impressive considering just how bad the PK has been, the fact the Hawks are blowing 3rd period leads at a whim and Khabibulin...is...well...playing like a washed up veteran.

Fact is Rozsival and Handzus should be wrapped in bubble wrap and put away until March. Both look slow, old, and flat out bad.

The Rockford revolving door has begun...and will continue until Q can find somebody who has skill to accept a lower line role. Like say, Frolik did. Until that happens, this team wont' hit it's full stride.

Didnt' take long for ole Jimmy Hayes to find his @ss in Rockford again, eh?

#Beachquotes dude's a punchline these days and hard to find anyone 'round here laughing. He's been a tremendous waste of time and money to this point.

You are correct, Philco. The view expressed about Beach by others just reinforces your comment. When a player has some ability and is drafted in the first round, you really want to see him succeed. Oh well. The only beach in Chicago will be North Ave beach for sand volleyball and Beach may be closer to playing there than on the ice across town.

Thanks! It was great to some the kids.

I mentioned Olsen is struggling to make the right decisions some times.

He did make some great outlet passes however and jumped into the play a little bit. He actually had a wide open net on a Danault feed down low but failed to capitalize.

When I watched him in the prospect tournament in the summer, he looked great (albeit a man amongst boys) but looked very ordinary on Tuesday.

Listen, the Hawks don't need a guy at this point to come up and light it up from the back end. They need dmen that are solid, almost textbook defensively. Thus why I agree with Eli that Dalhbeck might be up sooner than anyone else down there. Also, why Stanton was very close to be a regular before being picked up by VAN.
I watched the Hogs-Marlies game the other night and saw some of the same things from Olsen. He seems to either get a little lost on the ice or has brain farts out there from time to time. To me Dahlbeck plays a much steadier game all around and is especially strong in his own end. Alex Broadhurst had a great game and was a beast at times. He has great anticipation of the puck and was constantly a step ahead of who was covering him. Rannta saved the Hogs in the first two periods when the Hogs defense was especially shaky. Dent moved Svedberg up a pairing in the third and he was playing with Dahlbeck at times. This seemed to help and the defense really shut the Marlies down in the third.
Olsen should be focusing on being rock solid in his own end, all while playing a little nasty and standing up for his teammates from time to time. He's a little slow (mentally and physically) for my liking right now.

Mills was another along with Alex Broadhurst who had a very strong game against the Marlies.

Saw Q said Mills would see PK time....he's got the jump to be very effective in that role.

It true JHawk...i've mentioned this before, but a few years back I was in Van on vacay and took in a Giants game. Kid on the visiting team, was FLYING around, wreaking havoc effectively and generating chances galore. That kid was Kyle Beach. Haven't seen that Beach since.

I hope we catch lightning in a bottle but I keep asking myself.......

....."Self, if Mills has the jump and the ability to play on the Hawks PK, then why has he only played in a few dozen NHL games?"

Self just shrugged his shoulders......

Kid has played more games in the NHL than ANY OF US...so he's doing something right.

#Blackhawks' Brad Mills remembers only NHL goal: "Marty Turco in this building, actually. This building hopefully is a good place for me."

Can you recall at what age Cleary finally saw the light of day with the Wings?

So it's come down to arguing with yourself? You know that they make a pill for that problem, right?

If you put Beach and Cleary in an interview side by side...i swear to God i'd conclude that Beach was the Newfy.
