fixed - Rockhead_37
Fixing the problems I highlighted would take care of said vertical challenge. (Gionta, Gorges, Desharnais would be gone) |

Seeing this team play in the regular season makes one wonder how they can continuously choke in the playoffs. Man are they ever impressive. - kev1586
They lost to the Kings in 7 last year, wouldn't call it a choke. |

Habs strength
1. Offensive players
2. Price (so far this season anyways)
Habs weakness
1. Their D (Having 7 poopty players to play with Subban does not equal depth)
2. Too many vets that just can't anymore.
3. Therrien. - kev1586
Too many passengers (Bourque, Gionta, Desharnais, Brière,...).
These four take up more than 15 million of our cap space. |

Bourque at 3.33 is fine on the 3rd line if he hits people. Can't wait for the day DD Gionta, Briere are all gone from this team.
Pacioretty - Eller - Gallagher
- Galchenyuk -
Bourque - Plek - Bournival
Prust - White - Moen
PK - Tinordi
Markov - Emelin

That's a lot of money for a third line winger.
Fact is, he's inconsistant and he's a floater. I want him gone as well. |

Did Moen lose an eye? - Pecafan Fan
I hope not.
He was already useless with two. |

Don,t think so.
Think the puck hit him in the mouth. |

I'm probably the last person to defend Desharnais, but I thought he was one of the better ones tonight, at least hustle wise. Subban was a mess, his worst game this season and Boullion was atrocious. Pleks was the only one that really struck me as consistent. |

I don't want to blame the refs. I think the better team won tonight, and it's yet another example that the Montreal Canadiens are not ready to compete with the top tier teams in the league.
That being said, the box score of this game bothers me. 3 of the Montreal penalties were essentially for interference (even though only one was called that way) while San Jose ran interference all night. Now I can understand that some of those were reputation calls and that just comes with the territory but some were a little obvious (against Gallagher in the third comes to mind right away). On that note, I'd like to see Therrien blow a fuse in a game like this and maybe turn the tide, even if only slightly.
As for the Montreal Canadiens, I continue to believe that too many players are wrongfully slotted to make this team a competitive one. They are wrongfully slotted out of necessity, but the last 3 GM's haven't been able to fix this problem. Will Bergevin? - kev1586
meh, its hardly interference if your not moving. Habs got served. |

Too many spins behind the net trying to skate the puck out instead of using his teammates. |

I like Gorges. He's just forced to play too many minutes.
Brière/Desharnais can be replaced by anyone who isn't handicap.
Gionta/Bourque can be replaced by much cheaper players. |

He had a few good chances and failed to put them in. I agree though he was decent. |

Come on. Players like Morrow, Raymond, Boyes were signed during training camp. There is always plenty of guys on the market to bring in for cheap. Gionta is costing us 5 million a year. How many goals will he score? 15? If that, before he gets injured.
There are cheaper options out there. |
