Maybe it's because I've seen Timmy layout guys plenty of times like that, but watching the video it sure looks like Miller was trying to put the shoulder into Looches chest, he was certainly prepared for the contact.
- Double_A

Miller probably isnt even 180. I can't imagine a scenario where he thought he'd get anything but destroyed by lucic. But /shrug who knows. I certainly can't say for sure what he was thinking but if I was ~180 and saw lucic barreling toward me I'm certainly not thinking "this will turn out okay"

Maybe you have a better angle on it, but it didn't look like Chara got his elbows up, he didn't hit him in the middle of the back, .. sometimes people get hurt on clean plays too, and again, that's just the angle I saw, if you have a better one....

Wingels was hit in the head because Chara is freakishly tall. Should he be suspended because he is so damn big? No. He didn't go out of his way to smoke Wingels, he was just finishing his check.

THIS

Imagine how awesome they're gonna be after they trade Miller for draft pics.

The bruins turned out okay. They were pretty awful for a while. I have faith it'll turn around.

Ah... So ONLY if he's concussed, there should be supplemental discipline...

I guess knocking Wingels out of the game in the 1st doesn't count then.

Gotcha.

- Team_Teal

Yeah supplemental discipline, correct. I at least have an opinion and now I'm forming one of you too since you failed to offer one. Still doesn't mean that the refs dropped the ball on calling Chara for a penalty. That hit by Chara sucked and it should have been a power play for SJ. I made a lot of posts today... Why don't you go back and try to twist some more of my commentary?

So he can't move his arms to target Wingels' torso instead?

It was a head shot & has nothing to do with height if Chara can still move his arms.

He won't be disciplined because the league has it's head up Jeremy Jacobs' @ss so far it can see what he eats before it hits his tongue.

Homerism would mean I would be telling you Chara did no wrong and blindly defending him. Which I'm not.

Haven't seen that hit yet, have no opinion on it, from what I've gathered it was a late hit. Also I have Eriksson in fantasy so I have a strong bias on that one, can't speak objectively

Chara can't use his arms, he'd get a two minute minor for holding, unless he uses them to cross check Wingels which would have been worse. Bring the hug back and he doesn't have to smash Wingels.

Come on Ty? Really? Erikkson a top 6 forward??? What a joke. I don't even know how you have a blog???

Also your John Scott Rant was pathetic as a 2 year old crying for Ice Cream. Yes he hit the guy in the head, and gets what he deserves.

Chara should be suspended for his hit as well. 10 Game Minimum.

You wanna clean up head hits, Automatic 10 Games.

- mattsox

In Dallas he was a top 6 guy and maybe in Boston he might not be because of the depth they have. But considering he's got more points than 90% of the Sabres and has played less games, he'd easily be top6 in Buffalo. Actually Mike Smith in Phoenix is on pace to be top 6 Sabres fwd this year.

Apparently agreeing with the fact Chara was wrong makes me a homer

no, he won't be suspended because Shanny's boss's son plays for the Bruins, Greg Campbell, same reason he didn't for his chicken -crap hit on Miller that cause a concussion

Yup. That's how Tim Thomas made all those saves and won the cup too. Colin Campbell. Lay off the weed.

Why can't fans just take their lumps without having to resort to "We'll take our 7 wins to your 9 losses".

Well, DUUUUHHH! No, sh!t, Sherlock! Captain obvious strikes again.

It wasn't so long ago that the Bruins sucked. We'll be back.

Anyway...

Chara brought his dirtiness to the dinner table on that play. Plain and simple. Get over it.

I think all the Sabres poster was trying to say was "careful how you run your mouth (And I think most of it was directed at Ty Anderson), because it always, always comes back around".

Scott deserves what he gets, for sure. Is he an embarrassment to the game? Perhaps. But he's not a historically dirty player. And please don't act like the Bruins have been a squeaky clean franchise, either. You guys have, and have had, your share of players who cross the line, too.

- Powerslave

Exactly, why do Sabres' posters "get it" and others not? To go all out in a verbal crucifiction of one player on one team on his first suspendable hit is going to come back and kick u in the butt because these hits happen a lot. Then if you don't "critique" those hits like you did one against your team, you are going to look like a Mike Mibury hypocrite, and there are few things worse in the media than that.

who said anything about Thomas or the cup??? All I'm saying is as long as the NHL has morons like Bettman, Shanahan and Campbell running the league, it will always be on par with the WNBA, a 4th rate league

Funny thing is I've heard lots of comments from hockey people that Miller invited it. Dead horse but IMO it looks very much like Miller attempts to initiate the contact, dropping the shoulder and then gets trucked and threw a hissy fit afterwards because he got the worst of it. Looch shouldn't have done it, but Miller wasn't blameless.
- Double_A

they (frank)ing bumped into each other. the only reason they keep harping on it was that it was an embarrassment to the Sabres. no more no less.
