calmness Oiler fans. Eakins doesn't put up with players who don't play a defensive game. Like Ovechkin's struggles, or similarly Kadri's, there will be growing pains to adapt to the new style of play.

That being said though, I never thought Yakupov was the best player in this draft of... really good/maybe elite players. Galchenyuk will likely take those honors with Trouba, Maatta and Rielly looking like the real deal. Had all been healthy I don't think Yaks would be wearing an Oiler jersey.

You know there are teams that have built their rosters on saying goodbye to players like Yakupov. Boston said goodbye to Seguin and Kessel, LA said goodbye to Cammalleri (when he was young and PPG on a rebuilding team).

I think you guys should do the same. Yakupov is a nice player, but not really critical in playoff situations, most successful teams don't build their rosters around wingers or even pay all that much for them, especially not one-dimensional flashy ones. Patrick Kane is really the one exception, but he's an extremely smart player with playmaking and goal-scoring capabilities alike.

There's a post pointing out just how stupid it is to sink your resources in those kind of players http://sbcpuckstorming.bl...arket-inefficiencies.html

Been watching this game on and off, and already noticed 2-3 times where the Oilers could have shot the puck and MOST LIKELY would have scored. Shoot the puck, (frank)ers!

Yeah I came in about half way through - was happy with that PP.

I do hate not getting that first period goal at home.

Yakupov is not Seguin or Kessel. He might be Brendl or Daigle. Or he might turn into Semin or AO. We don't know. Daigle was pretty good his first year but the fact he wasn't mario hurt him. Maybe he's a bust.

It's too early for a team to give up a lot and it's too early for the Oil to give up on him. He's not getting 6mill. Whoever said that needs to stop the drugs. He's not worth a long term deal period. He's a kid. Let him play.
