Sadly, i have noticed these things too.

Edit: But i am ok with this from Sven since he is still a rookie. But Glencross has been doing the same poop . . .

- FL4MES

My thoughts as well. WTF are the GlenX's flying under the radar & Sven gets nitpicked. Maybe there's a trade rumour from Ek involving Sven

Don't be stupid. Go to duty free, buy a cheap bottle of wine and use that. Plus if you play things right you will have some wine to drink.

One persons opinion. I happen to disagree with a lot of what he says.
Yes guys like Gagner and MPS should have been sent down but Nuge, Hall and Yak were ready. The argument for Monahan is that he is really being protected right now. Soft minutes and easy assignments. That would be the only argument to send him down.

The contract issues don't mean poop.

soft NHL minutes or not, they are still NHL minutes. Better for his development to succeed in that scenario then to return to Junior and face nothing challenging. Even if he does have to face adversity at times, I think it will make him a better player in the long run. The only thing that hampered the development of Hall or RNH, were injuries and not the fact they weren't playing Junior or in the minors.

That guy is a generalizing sh!t eating dink

To be honest I have to disagree with you completely. While sometimes you have to actually try and find Monahan on the ice, when you do he is almost always in good position covering his man. If he wasn't he'd be on the bench. Baertschi, I feel, is being used as the scapegoat a little but Monahan is a very smart player and shouldn't be discredited. If you watch the GA when he is on the ice, most of the time he is covering his man and the goal happens as a result of something else. You don't get 21 minutes against a stanley cup winning team if the coach doesn't have faith in you in all areas of the ice. Besides, Who would you rather have play defence for Calgary? Butler or Monahan? lol I'm pretty sure Monahan would do a better job at this point

You missed the point. Its not that Monahan isn't covering a man. Its in a traditional wing position. Not center which is much more difficult.

Mike Johnson did a little segment breaking down how in the d zone, Monahan is taking a high wing position and leaving Sven or his other line mate to handle the more difficult position of Center in the d zone.

So he's playing center on offense but wing on d. And he's getting easier assignments.

Again. I'm not saying it a terrible thing. Its working for him. Let him gradually increase his confidence and positional work and he'll grow into it.

my thoughts exactly!
the guy is so lazy....so many times he misses on the forecheck and then just glides back deflated rather than chase after the guy!

Put Sven back in...he clearly helps that line with Monahan more than just the points that he has to show for!!

i hope this big whooping on us just shows the coaching we need Sven and the young talent...Sit GlenX (and Stajan until he's really 100% good enough to return)
