Giroux is currently riding an 8-game no goal streak.

Busty McBusterson?

14-game stretch last year with only 1 goal.

Trade him for a 7th rounder.

- Atomic Wedgie

Giroux is also coming fresh off of wrist surgery for a torn tendon. Im not to worried about him. Also not super worried about the Flyers. Sure, they might miss the playoffs again, but they'll be back sooner than a decade.

OK, this is waaaaay off topic, but why do people always assume that putting brothers together on a team is always 100% a positive thing?

I have two brothers. We used to play hockey together.

It was not always a positive thing for us or the dressing room.

- Atomic Wedgie

as Whitey would say..."Oh Brother"

Well, right or wrong, my big issue is that the QMJHL isn't known for producing big-time defenders. You look at the top guys (Weber, Karlsson, Pietrangelo, OEL, etc.) and they're all either WHL, OHL, or international. Letang came from there, but otherwise, I can't think of another big-name defender in the league that came out of that system.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the WHL breed.

- jmatchett383

Yeah, the Q been a bit of a barnstorming scorer's league over the past 20 or so years... not a lot of structure being taught there. It's getting better, though.

BTW, Kris Letang from the Q, he's not half bad.

why sour grapes? we do have the dynamic L Schenn
- vejim

Dude, I am not going to lie, your post make me want to kick you in the nuts. you offer nothing but female doging and moaning. I get that the flyers are bad right now and they are in the middle of a rebuild whether the Flyers will admit it or not but for the love of god you are becoming extremely annoying.

Don't be jealous. We all know you want Luke Sloth back.
- PLindbergh31

Seriously guys, I'd love to take him back, but Leafs fans are currently busy projecting Morgan Rielly to be the next Bobby Orr. And by "next", I mean in the next 20 minutes or so Bobby will be holding a press conference.

And then, of course, when the kid is overcome by the crushing weight of wildly stupid fan expectations, we will be busy arranging a train to take him out of town after we have tarred and feathered him. He won't need a lot of luggage, because he won't have his confidence anymore to put in a suitcase and take with him.

I simply don't have time to take on the Luke Schenn Returns Project right now.

Sorry.

He had one 5-game stretch without a point.

No 4-game stretches.

Your "wildly inconsistent" assertion smells of sour grapes.

I clearly said goals, not points.

Yeah, I added that at the very end. Like I said, past him, I can't think of any top defender from there who's playing today.

I'd take the older McGinn, and the Sedins.

That would be cool.

I didn't call anyone a bust. Nor did I suggest trading anyone. Giroux needs to be much better.

as bad as the Rangers have been, I still like their D - if they can get it together tonight, I see another frustrating loss for the Flyers. In any event, it won't be a cakewalk. But then again, I'm not even sure what a cakewalk is.

I'm a big Luke Schenn fan, but he's been pretty bad so far this Season. I don't know why, or what the issue is. Maybe he's not in good shape. He was horrendous on the Crosby goal in the Pens game. In which Coburn unfairly took most of the criticism on that play. But Giroux was just as bad, and Schenn was the biggest culprit on that play.
- MJL

Could it be that he really isn't that good?

Time will tell I suppose. I don't care who is on the team as long as they win.

Sadly, there's about 4 specific people on here who refuse to be happy about anything the Flyers do, and always look at them with a glass half empty view. Pretty sure they know who they are.

It can't be footspeed, though.

Five games into last season, you declared the footspeed thingy to be dead.

Although Luke thought he could benefit from some extra skating today...
