Does anyone have a time machine to send this Steve Mason back to the Flyers in 2010?

Anyone?

Timo looked terrible to me ... almost looking like he was unable to skate at times.

Simmer seems to lose the puck almost every time he touches it this year. I can't believe that he'll continue to flub it like he's been doing.

helluva jumping jack on that goal, though.

I expect most of them to start playing better...I do think Timonen might not rebound...he just looks terrible, Modry-esque at times. It's hard to see him struggle, because he has been so good for so long.

Other then a few shifts where they spent too much time in their own end, the Flyers were very good defensively. A lucky bounce was the only thing that prevented a shutout for Mason. Offensively, still not there yet. PP is abysmal.

a full week of "hard" practices playing against a bad team, missing 5 regulars and they come up with this? maybe berube meant the practices were hard to watch. does anyone have more confidence after this game?

You mean they came up with a W? I'll take it. I don't think the Rangers are a bad team. Just like the Flyers, are off to a bad start.

Giroux was the worst flyer tonight. Freaking mind boggling

G looks awful. I'm not bailing on him yet, but $8.25 for a 25 a season goal scorer that can't play defense is just way too high, IMHO of course.

Age and injuries might have finally caught him.

No, I don't have more confidence, but I have to hold out hope. Otherwise I'd have to watch the Sixers and I don't want to stoop to that level for "entertainment".

Still sticking with calling him Fraud Giroux, until he shows me different.

His playmaking is his bread and butter, he can be a 25 goal scorer as long as he's a 60+assist guy.

Baby steps, baby steps. I thought after Read got that shortie that would open the flood gates and the Flyers were going to score at least 4-5 goals. Their confidence still isn't there, hope this win helps.

Actually...yeah, I do.

I'm not blind -- Simmonds was truly...not good. Timonen looks like a No. 6. He's clearly not what he once was, and that's tough to watch.

The power play is ridiculous right now. Horrific. Just...horrifying to watch.

So yes, I saw everything that everyone else saw, and yeah, the Rangers didn't have even close to their best lineup.

But the Flyers clearly moved the puck with more authority. The breakouts were better. They hit two posts off good, quality shots. Vincent Lecavalier was in Absolute Beast Mode. I think he and Claude Giroux...that might work really well.

Yes, they need to be better, to start winning more games.

But I do honestly believe there's a bit more there, from this team. A bit more.

And, again: I do think Steve Mason is the goaltender. He's played well enough, from last season and this season, for this to not be a fluke or hot streak.

He's been good for us, and I think for once, we have caught a freaking break and just might have a goaltender.

Nice to see the WE WIN pic. I have been quiet this season because there hasn'y been much good to say. Good to get a W. Now they need to build on it. A 4 or 5 goal outburst against the Isles would be nice.

Hopefully they get some confidence from this. I would have liked to have seen a more aggressive 3rd period. But hey, they won a 3rd period for a change.

I think Timonen must still be injured. He left a game early last week, but then practiced and played without missing any time. Sounds to me like it could be one of those deals where any mere mortal would miss a month, but Timonen, with his off-the-charts pain threshold is out there playing with a broken fibula or something.

I mean, I love the warrior mentality, but sometimes you just need to take some time of and heal, even if you are the second coming of Ragnar Lothbrok.

He's just looked bad all season, though. I hope he is hurt, as bad as that sounds.

If Timo is in the slightest bit injured he should be the healthy scratch until he gets better. However, I think the Flyers see the writing on the wall.
