My life could really use a Flyers victory right now.

Luke Schenn seems like he's trying to find his way out of a dog house and I'm not sure how he got there, to be honest.

You can't tell me he's been any worse than any other player so far.

Good kid but that goal was a little fluky. Johnson should have had that. It was a soft backhand.
- Captain_Quiffe

This. I was at the game last night, Sabres are VERY awful. Entire team seems disinterested, and anyone they drafted early on would have made that lineup

I'm a big Luke Schenn fan, but he's been pretty bad so far this Season. I don't know why, or what the issue is. Maybe he's not in good shape. He was horrendous on the Crosby goal in the Pens game. In which Coburn unfairly took most of the criticism on that play. But Giroux was just as bad, and Schenn was the biggest culprit on that play.

Oh, no doubt, I agree.

I just don't think he deserves to be any deeper in the dog house than anyone else on this team right now.

It's not like Luke Schenn is the sole cause for the crappy start.

I would take the pages on which that is written and use it to line your pet bird cage. That's about what it's worth.

He isn't the only one who thinks Zadarov will be a much better player then Morin. That's not to say Morin can't develop into the better player but if I where to bet I would put my money on Zadarov. I know it doesn't mean much coming from a owner but the Knights owner said of all the players to ever play for the Knights ( which includes a pretty impressive list ) Zadarov has the highest potential of all of them. Potential doesn't also translate into results though so it won't be years till anyone finds out who got the better D man.

Which is precisely the point as to why the discussion is so asinine.

Let's revisit in 7-10 years, then see.

No, but his demotion speaks to how the flyers value Schenn and what level they think he should be playing at. Similar to timonen on the 2nd pp. I think Berube recognizes his best players are underperforming and is trying to light a fire. Schenn asking for more skating work tells me it's working.

I'm excited to lecavalier on the top line. While I agree with other posters that on paper it makes the lineup a little weaker, I'm up for anything that gets the offense going. The silver lining for me is Schenn is more comfortable at center, IMO.

This is my philosophy: if we have to wait 2-3 years but end up with the better player, then it's worth it.

oh i understand but at the time there were only a handful of players that were slated to be NHL ready at the time of the draft and Zadorov was 1 of them personally on a team with terrible defense the season before (although alot due to injury) it would make more sense to me to draft a player that could play right away. also Zadorov would have had AHl eligibility so even if he didnt make the team out of camp he could have been used as a call up in case of injury...
Morin was returned to his junior team... the only way we can call him up is as a emergency call up .... there was just more of an upside to Zadorov than Morin...

- flyer186

The Flyers expected to compete for a playoff spot, and very well still may. Buffalo was expected to be one of the bottom feeders and have 4 players 19 or under in their lineup. Sounds to be that they are willing to let their kids learn on the job. Regardless, you don't draft for the moment, you draft the player who you think will turn out the best and the Flyers had Morin ranked higher. time will tell. they already have 8 NHL dmen on the roster and have 3-4 guys in the minors they can call up if necessary. there is absolutely no reason to rush him.
