Yeah.. that worries me.. He seems to have regressed this year.
- Hextall271

He has. Granted it's only 8 games, but his lack of foot speed and limited offensive ability are what worries me. I'm not saying he's a bum, but I'm not sure what his ceiling is. It might be a 3-4 dman.

I want to see them take the next 3 to end the month at 4-7 and then we will talk about how the first 8 games don't matter.

Maybe.. D men take longer to develop, but it might have been a better idea to trade JVR in a package for a Dman with a 2 way game or hold on to him.

And last year when he was second on the team you were in here every day telling us how great he was, right?
- Feanor

maybe, he has been obsessing about the flyers on various flyers' message boards for a lonnng time... as far back as philly.com boards when i was on there several years ago...

some people just can't stop thinking about the flyers

You guys are spoiled.. You get to watch the Flyers feed all the time when I get whoever the opposing team's feed is because I've got Centre ice..! Try dealing with Potvin, or Jeanerette or that (frank) tard Edwards all the time.

I don't mind the broadcasts on TSN nor the CBC ones, but JJ is ok in my books..

I am not ready to give up on Schenn, but the issue I had with the trade is that we didn't get enough for a guy who is a 2nd rounder. I remember a while back reading Ken Holland's thoughts on Dmen. He said, that it's never wise to overpayin money or assets for a defensive defenseman, as they tend to be easier to acquire. If you do overpay, you should do so for two way guy with offensive upside, not for a one dimensional dman. Schenn is not even playing like a shutdown guy yet, but hopefully he can develop into one.

I would have felt better getting more for Schenn in that deal..maybe Schenn and gardiner for JVR and a second or something like that. Or maybe, use JVR to get a real stud dman if they could.

- Hextall271

I wanted to keep JVR honestly. It was tough moving him so soon.

"IF" you're going to move him how desperate do you have to be to move him in a year when he's coming off a broken foot and a concussion and deal him for a guy who, healthy as a horse, can't break the defensive lineup of a non playoff team?

That in a nut shell is my issue with the whole thing.

Of course he does. But of course, we needed another centre more than a solid young Dman

This says a lot. I think most people are fairly bullish on JVR becoming a perennial 30 goal scoring first line power forward, and the hope is for Schenn to become better than Grossmann?

Good lord.

- PLindbergh31

He's not right now and that's not exactly high aspirations so yeah... there's the hope.

Not that it doesn't matter. It's just that most athletes are prone to bad stretches. Judging a guy on 8 games -- saying he's regressed -- is unfair.

I believe reports that the org had enough of him maybe with his attitude or him not coming out of UNH early or something like that. Maybe because he didn't always seem interested or he wasn't always the player we saw in the 2011 playoffs. Either way, jebus get more for him

I think it was as simple as Holmgren being desperate to add a defenseman at that draft. I think it skewed his judgement.

I just like not always listening to homer colour guys beaking off about how the flyers suck and whatever team they are playing can do no wrong.

heard it was great(LA Noire). if you want to play something more recent i totally recommend "the last of us" best story game i have ever played.

first 5 minutes of the game. This is nothing compared to the rest of it:

Game got a 10/10 not a easy feat

- PhillaBully

Wish I had a PS3 jsut to play this game. I'll probably just watch the walkthrough, instead.
