RNH and Hall could only go back to Juniors. Hall was MVP 2 years in a row, what else could he learn from that league? RNH, earned his spot in the NHL just like Monahan.
Justin Schultz lead all AHL defenceman last year, he proved he was ready for the NHL. - Al Hacker
I'd argue that all of these players, Monahan included, would have been best served with more ripening in the A. Schultz has the offense but his D is a gong show.
And I realize that the A was not an option for most of these guys. Its a shame there is no option for special player exemption for the AHL. |

I don't go making bets haphazardly....
Ok then how about this.
In the next 10 games the Oilers will have more points than the Flames in their next 10? I'll even give you the tie. |

Yeah... removing a picture of an old dude flipping the double bird is exactly the same as systematically trying to annihilate an entire race. Give your head a shake. |

Hall, Nuge, Yak, Nurse - The-O-G
Nurse who's in juniors? Am I missing something here? don't 1st overall picks usually go directly to the NHL, seeing how there is nothing left in Juniors to aid their development? |

haha...I was just kidding
I do think they kind of rushed the Nuge, only because of his size though that's all.
As for the rest of your statement about how the Oil should be 6-3-1...well... - The-O-G
Because of his size? I don't understand why everyone seems to think this.... So he trips up and goes into the boards on a freak play and now he's too small to play in the league, give me a break. I'd be worried about his size if anyone could actually hit him, not to mention he's laid out more than a couple people as well. |

I don't think the Oilers first overall picks were rushed into the NHL too soon but I do think they were rushed into first line duties too soon. Constantly being manhandled by other teams top lines crushed their confidence to some extent. |

I'd agree with this, but it's not like they had a ton of choice. The vets were doing an even worse job in top line duties. This is the first season in a long time where the older guys are actually playing well. |

This I agree with absolutely. Although I don't think that Nuge has any confidence issues, Hall definitely did after his first year, and obviously Yak is now as well. |

Size issue is such a joke, what matters is the development, what in the hell could any of those players learned in an extra year of Juniors?
Edit: Justin Schutlz could of used another year in the A? are you serious? Yea because he definitely could of used more time in a league where he led defensemen in points with only playing half the year.... - SpoiledByOil
There's more to it than just learning to play at a high level. Physical aspect, whether you like it or not is quite important. The kids a rail and no development happens when your not playing due to injury. You must have the game as well as the mental and physical development to make it. Someone said in an interview a few weeks back that unless they are a Crosby type player, most players should not make the immediate jump. I agree for the most part.
Schultz, does he even know where the defensive end is?
Don't get your panties in a knot. I said it was debatable. |

This may be a better way to put it.
That said, this should be an area where Feaster should be praised. I'm certain he knew a year , maybe 2 that the rebuild was coming. Signing Hudler and Wideman were as much about maintaining a leadership group for the kids for the next few years as it was about pushing for a PO spot. JMO. |

I disagree. If you're ready for the nhl you're ready. There are just as many or more guys in Junior and the A trying to make a name for themselves and taking liberties with high caliber players as in the NHL. Yes the NHL guys are often more mature and developed but they are not nearly as many guys taking runs at guys. |

I don't see how that is me getting my panties in a knot, but yea right on bra . Again, if Nuge was getting man handled I could see the problem, I have yet to see him even get hit in the NHL that was anything more than a bump off the puck. The kid is ridiculously hard to hit, I don't see how his freak accident injury is any reason why people should be calling his size into question. People get injured all the time in freak incidents, has nothing to do with his size.
Edit: by your reasoning Winnipeg is rushing Trouba this year because of the injury he sustained going into the boards. |
