Probably Toews, but I haven't really watched the hawks that much. He also plays with better players over the last few years, so you can't really compare apples to apples when it's not.

honestly, that would be most of the posters in this thread.
as for your "so many", again, personally, i'm not sure how you folks in Toronto all went off the deep end with this thing because it's nowhere near as prevalent as you guys like to make it out to be. but if some people have a certain opinion of these stats, who cares? everything will come out in the wash and the teams that earn their way into the playoffs will make the playoffs. but you guys are gonna wear yourselves out over this Corsi crap by January.

The assumption that puck possession 100% relates to winning is proven false every year by at least a handful of teams. Some years more than others. It is a flawed idea because goaltending, special teams ability, and the skill of shooters are not taken into account.

Well it seems there are management/coaching staff out there using these stats to target players in trades and FA. So yes, a player could attempt this to try and increase his FA value.

problem is, that's what lots of people do.

Bad corsi=bad team.

Bad Corsi+good results= lucky team.

It's pretty much exactly the same as using +/- to judge a player's worth.

Except a team's +/- is going to give you a much better idea as to how a team is doing, unlike Corsi.
