Totally agree, RC thought it would be the best way to squash the issue.

Yep...Rolston wanted to start something...Scott did with Kessel......

Doz, you can try to blame it on anyone you want, but Scott is a big boy, and can make his own bad decisions.

You do realize that this was the point Dozzer was making?

stop.. just stop

does carlyle send out his good line to generate momentum when the leafs are tied or down a goal?

the answer: he most certainly does

momentum is not offense. you get a grinder line out there to wear the opposition down, and if they do their job right they will keep the puck in the offensive zone.. flip a quick change to your scoring line while the defenders are tired from just having to play intensely physical hockey and ta - da.. you've just increased your chances to score.

- Dozzer

He did it against anahiem and it worked. Got a good chance and drew a penalty. Problem is Scott doesn't do that. If Scott could forcheck worth a dam you'd gave a point.

I think, ( say that with hesitation ) Randy thought, NO Way would Scott be that stupid.

No, he is trying to blame Randy, for putting Kessel out. From what I see.

oh i give up.. not gonna spend my morning arguing against absurd bias

this is why us leaf fans get made fun of all the time.. just so ya know

- Dozzer

Your bias against the Leafs is stronger than their bias for the Leafs.

Discuss.

the bolded i agree 100% with

i am not denying Scott isnt a tool.. not once did i try to defend him

but the coach in buffalo is trying to use that line like carlyle uses his fourth line.. thats why i dont blame the coach for a reckless player.

if the coach is to blame at all its when he pencilled him into the lineup in the first place.

- Dozzer

Until they show they are capable of doing that, then they are going to get criticism for doing stuff like this.

Eller, junior, fruitbasket = all hell breaks loose.

Scott bulldozes a Bruin = all hell breaks loose.

Phil Kessel scores hattrick winning the game for the Leafs = nothing

Nice to see we have our priorities straight guys.

So what you are saying is that if the other team puts out useless 4th line players, then RC or any other coach should match that line, correct??

blame the player all you want. he's a douche..

but i disagree with blaming the coach by extension

guess what.. these teams loade dup on big dummies why?

cause the leafs decided thats how they were going to play.. and so the other teams loaded up on goons in response.

our leafs arent the blessed little angels a lot of people like to make them out to be

Maybe, almost as bad a player, but McLaren is a far better player than either of them.

His 11 points in 75 games and 5 minutes of ice time per game are a testimony to his greatness and usefulness.

I did not say he would be up for the Hart. He is a far better player than Parros.

Its his numbers in comparison to other "goons"...he can at least skate and contribute on a more regular basis than can most other guys his size.

I wouldn't say far better.
If fighting was not in the game, none of those guys would have a sniff at the AHL nevermind the NHL.
