Cheers. I have high hopes for him (Cannata). I think (hope) we have a strong goalie prospect pool. It would lessen the hurt from the Schneids trade. - bloatedmosquito
Horvat will make you forget about Schneider within a couple of years. |

Booth, Schroader and 3rd for Canmalarri
Booth for Peverely
I think booth can be moved, for another bad contract that can at least contribute - Bieksa#3
I'd love to be able to land Cammy, he's a sniper and clutch performer, exactly what this team needs, but it would take more than that IMO. |

Perhaps. When traded from Montreal he didn't bring much. With so many contending team tight to the cap, he might not have a huge market |

I see him as a 4/5. I'm hoping for him to be Gunnerson - Bieksa#3
Yeah, IMO he's a good #5 on a team with a good defense core, if he's your #4 then your probably a bit thin on the blueline. Again, IMO he's a good asset to move while he's still cheap and young because these types of defensemen can be replaced easily IMO and we have Corrado waiting in the wings. You're not going to get much straight up for him though, so I would suggest packaging him with more for a forward, preferably one that's not a rental. |

How about Booth for Stafford - Bieksa#3
That would be almost a lateral move IMO, but it could work for one or both teams. Watch Booth score 20+ with Hodgson |

Is it that obvious. I'm a huge Horvat fan. Big game player. Can't miss prospect. I love Schneider, but he isn't the superman some on here made him out to be |

Lets hope so. Shinkaruk is the prospect I'm highest on. I'm just not sold on Horvat as a 1st line NHL upside player, but if he can develop into a great two-way center and a team leader then that's just as valuable as a top line scorer. |

Its been speculated that Calgary may be willing to eat some of his cap hit to increase his value and bring in a good prospect/pick in return. |

I see little risk in the deal. Both are struggling mightely in their current surroundings. Both have had some success. Maybe a change of scenery would help both contribute. Contracts are almost identical |

You sound like a wife. Always finding the negative in anything her husband says.
But I want to believe you too. It would be nice to have a sure-thing in the organization. It's been awhile.

There's a bit of Toews in Horvat. A winner, a big game player. Natural leader. |

Agreed, and that's probably a more relastic deal then being able to package Booth for a guy like Cammy or even Erat(although I really think Erat would be a nice second liner here, underrated player IMO).

Similar personalities, characteristics and playing style sure(outside of the douchy post-game comments). But when you comapre their junior(Toews' college) highlights, Toews' natural offensive skill is significantly better IMO. Not to say that Horvat has stone hands or won't be an point producer in the NHL, but Toews has some really slick hands and stick-handling ability, he's even embarrassed a few teams in the NHL with it on more than one occasion. |

If Horvat was is full of himself as tows, hunter would kill him. Toews had 39 points in 42 games in his draft yr. Not far ahead of Horvat. |

I'm not as high on Shinkaruk as other's are, there's a reason he fell so far. He's small and he's a high risk/high reward type prospect. I watch the W closely due to my affiliation with the former Chilliwack Bruins and now Kelowna Rockets as a season's ticket holder and while he's got great hands and can skate well, he lacks positioning, discipline and he won't go into the dirty areas at all. He's much like Raymond but better balance and hockey IQ. I predict he'll dominate the W in scoring in the next two years, but will struggle mightily in the A and NHL and barely will be a 50-60 point scorer in his prime.
