What other numbers? I get people questioning how good he is going to be, but he's a NHL starter. Maybe he isn't in the top 10 or 15 or even 20, but right now as long as he isn't less than .900 spct we have a chance to win every game.

True but to me this is the season Dub needs to prove he is the Numero Uno Goalie,I hope he does and will only help the Oil to improve in the standings.

I do hope MacT brings another goalie the way the Leaf did to push Reimer for that number one position.

Again I will wait till He plays 60 or more games this season, then will see if I was wrong or right,I do want Dub to be that number one goalie but to me He is not yet,all his other numbers are just as a back up Goalie, this is the year He needs to close his legs.

He played 38 out of 48 games last year, 2.57GAA and 921 SV%, how is that not a #1 true starting goalie? On a very bad defensive team.

Nobody can argue that he had a few bad games to start the year but who in they're right mind judges a goalies worth on that small a sample.

Every great goalie, and I mean the great ones ie; Roy, Brodeur, Dryden, Hasek and Plante, had 3-5 game stretches where they couldn't stop a beach ball. It happens. What in the hell is the matter with people losing they're minds after a few bad outings.

Not saying that, only saying lest hope it continues.

fo show.

not saying hes proven he's the man etc.

just that he's played well. after all of the hate (myself included) he's gotten after his poor start, i think on the flip side of the coin it's only fair to give credit where it's due

They didn't bring someone in to replace Reimer, they brought in a replacement. You simply don't bring in a guy that wants out of one city because he wanted to start, unless your plan is for him to be the replacement.

I don't disagree with you though. I really wanted Khubodin, but I guess he didn't want us.

On a brighter note, tip my hat to the crazy french man. Chipped some teeth today and called out his former beat guy Andy Strickland. Maybe not called him out, but questioned him

He was a gooder too. I have a feeling we will land one of the top 2 goalies from europe this year. Not saying they are the answer as I have no idea who they are, but I think that's the route we are headed instead of drafting goalies.

Another Goalie with the upside to be a number one goalie would have help the Oil and Dub,competition for Dub and some security for the Oil encase one of them is not real deal.
Where's Khubodin now?

He's been forcing the play a little too much this year but the guy is a strong possession player and is one of the burgeoning threats in terms of Zone Entries.

To wit, statistics suggest that more goals are produced from carrying the puck over the line than dumping, even if a strong and committed puck carrier will turn the puck over more often than a guy who dumps it in. Further, the difference between giveaways in the offensive zone that generate goals against and loss of possession from dumping it in that generates a goal against is negligible when compared to the boon you get in goals for when carrying it in.

He has been forcing it though.

and 2 games now it makes him Vezina Trophy candidate I hope He continues playing this well.
- AlEx_OiL

Who said that?

He's a #1 goalie who has played very well the last 3 seasons... He played like sh1t at the beginning of this season, but seems to be getting back on track to being an average starter. Nobody mentioned him being a Vezina Trophy candidate... Or at least I hope they didn't.

Ryan, I've not been a fan of your blogs.... but to be honest, this was easily your best submission yet. It took a while, so well done.

legit question hear not me suggesting to move Hall....

would you bring back hemmer? or would it be better to look at the free agent front and look at bringing a guy like Callahan or Downie?

And thats likely the better route... unless we decide to pay for one via trade
