Lets not forget this guy was one of the dubs haters. And after his first few he was feeling vindicated and good.
Now after his last 3-(the last 2 he played extremely well) he's forced to look for any short comings possible. Whether theyre actually there or not

legit question hear not me suggesting to move Hall....

would you bring back hemmer? or would it be better to look at the free agent front and look at bringing a guy like Callahan or Downie?

If Hemmer wants to come back on a one or two year deal at 3.5ish I'd bring him back. I'd still look at the Callahan's, Downie's and Ott's of the world though.

Who knows Hemmer could be dealt by x-mas and this might be a non-issue.

Callahan and Downie are more of what this team needs, I think. It would give our top 9 attack a different look. IMO

I guess it also depends if Downie ext... get resigned by their current team.

You could probably add one of them and keep Hemmer. As it stands now Smyth is in the top 9 and not here next year.

Downie/Ott-Gordon-Hemmer

I took Callahan out as I can't see us affording him. He's getting a huge payday next summer. I'd actually try trade for Ott now to be honest. We need him now not next summer.

That's what I was just thinking, kinda why I put Ott in there. Buffalo is going to deal him to the highest bidder. Over pay a bit now as come trade deadline the price for him is going to be crazy high. The last thing we need is for a contender to make a play for him only to re-sign him. Need to get in on him while you can.

Now now,Dub had couple good games so far but lest not get carried away,Dub still have long way to go to show that He really is the Goalie the Oil need, but the Oil do need one Ugly Nasty Defeseman to hit other players teams hard.

Why? The guy got hazed by haters because he had a few games that were a lot worse than his norm, but now that he's back to his old self we should hold off on saying anything good about him?

No one has said anything remotely close to that. All that some of us have been saying is if we can get .900 spct out of the guy this team would win games. We haven't needed a vezina calibre goalie. We were out shooting teams, out chancing them, but goaltending was flat out the reason for losing. I find it hard to flat out blame goaltending, but the first half dozen games or so it was happening.

No. You're missing the point. 3 good games brings him back to where he was last season. It's kinda hypocritical to condemn a goalie after 4 bad games (which you did) and then preaching the "wait & see" approach after "just" 3 good games (which you're doing now).

I said this before "Dub numbers from last season and before are a bit fake to me,He played lots of games once the Oil were out from the playoff, there was 0 pressure" and I will stand by that till Dub shows this year that He can actually play at the same level he have show the last 2 games for the rest of this season or minimum 50 to 60 games.

Again I will wait till He plays 60 or more games this season, then will see if I was wrong or right,I do want Dub to be that number one goalie but to me He is not yet,all his other numbers are just as a back up Goalie, this is the year He needs to close his legs.

What? No pressure? Because the Oilers were out of the playoff hunt, you think that the opposition that was still fighting for a spot went easy on Duby? What kind of logic is that?

There is a bit of theory to it, but considering he was the starter last year that theory doesn't exactly work.

What other numbers? I get people questioning how good he is going to be, but he's a NHL starter. Maybe he isn't in the top 10 or 15 or even 20, but right now as long as he isn't less than .900 spct we have a chance to win every game.

Okay, just wait Dub needs another 53 to 60 Games to show everyone that He is really the Oil Number one Goalie.
His record this season playing 60 to 70 games will tell everyone if he's the guy.
