Oh cool, so you want two 1st rounders in exchange for one? I can see why HB needs your keen analytical mind. - oniremosewa
How often does a 1st overall pick get traded a year after they are drafted? Waiting for your keen analytical mind to analyze... |

And that was 4 years after he was drafted. Any one expecting to get Yakupov this season must be expecting their team shelling out a king's ransom for him, albeit preferably NHL players for the Oilers. |

Just an aside, while I like Yakupov, I much preferred Alex that draft year and, obviously, now. It's almost like Ovi and Crosby...one is a pure sniper, who really has not much going for him outside of his shot, and the other reads and plays the game better. |

We have RNH and Eberle that read the rest and do the fancy puck handling and play setting. We needed Yakupov to do the sniping. |

I am a proponent of drafting the better player. Which most had consented was Yakupov, but I disagreed then.
Yakupov, like Ovi, seems incapable of creating his own offensive plays. Yakupov seems to be a little bit better with the puck at high speeds than Ovi though. |

I agree in some sense, and I preferred Gally in 2011, then he missed an entire year, and I didnt really want to touch him at 1st overall. |

I seem to recall Galchenyuk was injured for much of the year. I wonder how things would have played out if they were both healthy that season. I'm not unhappy about Yak though. Not at all. |

yeah, and most scouts were leaning Nail anyway, it's hard for a GM and scouting department to make that pick with Alex 1st overall. Trading down could have been an option though, who knows. It's all done with now. I think Yakupov will be a solid 30/30 type of guy, he's young and oozing potential. |

From what I have read, he is rite.
MacT reached out to Bryz and Raycroft.
Raycroft went to EDM a day or two later to start working out.
Will be ready when the team gets back from road trip. |

Having a source would be great. Too many commenters saying Raycroft, and by too many, i really only mean Lahey and Byfuglien. |

Injury plague for both teams.
I expect a better performance from the Oilers compare to their previous meeting. This will be a great opportunity for Nail Yakupov to grow and prove the coach he learned while being healthy scratch. Leading the offence while managing emotions and stay out of penalty box will be Yak homework tonight. I think the biggest challenge for the Oilers will be between the pipes. Montreal have good offensive skill and Dubnyk will have to make some key saves if the Oilers have any chance to win this tonight.
Montreal is having a good start this season. It is important to mention that the Habs schedule this year features an October month with 9 games out of 13 vs teams from the West Conference. Any wins for the Habs this month are points that can be difference maker later this season and loss have less of a direct impact to them in the standings. They sure will want to come back into the winning side of things after a bitter lost to the Preds last Saturday night. This will be a good test for Price as he will be facing a dynamic offence from the Oilers.
Already the last game between the two teams this season, the puck drop at the Bell Centre in downtown Montreal 7h30ET.
Can't wait! |

Brule was never a PPG player, or close to it, his second year. He never had the hype Galchenyuk had either. |
