Would be nice if the oil keep him but we will do something dumb with him |

I think he stays and Gags goes to the wing to start anyways. Gives us more options on ice. - Iggysbff

Was just about to call out those (frank)ers myself. Come on dumbasses! Where'd you go? Where are the excuses? - Iggysbff
Yeah, surprisingly, there aren't many trolls in the Leafs thread either.
That's why I don't get the whole troll thing. It makes a troll look so pathetic when they disappear when their favorite target wins.
Oh well, good night Oil fans.

Agreed. I just cant see Gordon playing 4th line minutes. Hes way too good defensively to not play more.
Does the resident oiler fan doc know what a second tier acl strain is? and how long the rehab should take. Get him on dat HGH

Gagner can't play the wing. Since his rookie season he has like a .41 PPG at the wing but like a .71 PPG at center. |

But where do you find him ice time? With Gagner back he becomes the "third" line center? The same way Yakupov is the 7th winger.
Do the Oilers try to find a trade for him? You wouldn't get much back for a guy with like 10 NHL games. Plus, you're sure enough to have someone go down and then you're out a competent NHL skater. - DTF69
Move Gags to the wing and keep Arco as center. If he or Nuge get hurt move Gags back to C. Win win to me. |

So what do you guys think happens with Arcobello once Gags is back? He's looked really competent so far. You'd wish he had a better shot but his skating, defence, playmaking and defence is pretty solid. Good underlying numbers.
Can he skip waivers or what? - DTF69
He's been really good. There's no way a guy can go from leading the team in points ten games in to playing in OKC.
I hope they keep him around and move Gordon to 4C(although he'd be playing 5+ more minutes than Acton is currently).
Something along the lines of
Hall-RNH-Hemsky
Perron-Arcobello-Eberle
Joensuu-Gagner-Yak
Smyth-Gordon-(whoever).
Where the 4th line plays upwards of 10 not the 6/7 they have been. |

But isnt that with Cogs centreing him? Those 07 08 numbers aren't really a fair assessment IMO |

What a great turnaround. Missed the first half and thank god.
I read that after Hemsky's goal, EDM had 14 of the next 15 chances.
Perron look weirdly slow tonight to anyone? |

That's fair I guess, but I don't think Nuge or Yak have earned or are quite capable of playing the tough minutes you're suggesting there. Give them softer competition with a few less minutes and see if they can maybe parlay it into some scoring touch! |

He was .41 PPG as a winger. The team we have now is not the team we had then, nor is Gags the player he was then. Both have grown up somewhat, enough so that I think Gags would do just fine. |

THIS!!
I always hear this as some sort of quick fix!
he's far superior at center. some guys don't acclimate well outside their natural position.
I feel like it wasn't hard to tell hall was gonna struggle at pivot. and we've already seen gagner struggle on the wing |

For a bit. Then there was all those games he spent on the 3rd line with Belanger or Horcoff and sometimes Fraser with a revolving door or Pajaarvi and Eager and whatever else plug the Oiler's stuffed into that spot.
I'm not sure you take a guy who was on a career setting pace, for a full season, last year and stuff him onto the wing when he's proven he's significantly better at centre. |

I agree entirely. It's at least worth a shot as Arco has earned the right to keep his position. |

He doesn't skate well enough for a winger, especially compared to the rest of the Oiler's wingers and his board play isn't quite as suited to a winger as it is to a centre who is usually the second guy to come in on the wall. |
