Firing Darcy is unlikely to improve the product on the ice this year. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't happen. Doing it 10 games into a season is awkward, and would lead to questions of why not do it last May. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't happen. (I won't quit smoking today because I should have done it yesterday is a dumb excuse).
Leino/Myers/Grigorenko/Lack of solution at Center for 7 years alone is reason enough. - nfph
This is the point people are kind of not getting. We should have been prepared for this season. We knew they would be bad. Darcy PURPOSELY did nothing in the offseason to immediately improve the team
IMO things are going as planned at the FNC |

The issue is if they plan on rebuilding then it's fine to tank the season. However, the guy who's tried to rebuild 4 other times is still running things. The young guys on the team now will never develop correctly if there is no leadership on the ice, behind the bench, or no confidence from the ownership. It's sad when Regier and Black tell fans, bascially, that we're gonna suck this year. What kind of message is that for your team? |

Think about this Craig Patrick (Asst Coach in Miracle) after 17 years is fired in 2006 and starts the cindy/ geno era
Darcy 16 years as GM, so one more year of Darcy then start the Mc David/? Era with a new gm
Mind Blown |

Oh i get it, Darcy planned this because he FAILED to put a competative team on the ice given every resource. The man who failed is still in charge. That is what everyones problem is, I would assume. |

Took the words right out of my mouth.
Darcy must be hockey genius, as Ken Sawyer would say. He put an underqualified coach in place to make sure they tank, because you can't count on the players to do it all by themselves.
And we'll be worse next year w/o Van and Millsy.
Perhaps we misunderstood Terry's "3-year plan" after all.

[quote=rapperray]OK... So here are some questions.....
1) If we are rebuilding then what is Talinder doing here?
To offer a veteran mentor to the young D-man Core
2) If we are rebuilding why was Vanek not moved for draft choices or prospects?
He will, at the trade deadline. You can't fault Darcy for trying to maximize his return on a premium product. Supply and Demand
3) If we are rebuilding why is Miller still here and why was he not traded for ...whatever
He will, at the trade deadline. You can't fault Darcy for trying to maximize his return on a premium product. Supply and Demand
4) If we are rebuilding why is Grigorenko in the press box or on the 4th line with a couple of knuckleheads.
This is curious. He must not be earning his plying time. You can't reward a player if he is dragging ass or underperforming at practice or whenever
5) I can go on with more if you want me to....
Please do. This is fun.

So Ryno using YOUR own statement regarding Grigorenko.... Now tell me what has Darcy done to merit being employed here? He has not EARNED this job..... He has UNDERPERFORMED for 16 years yet he still is here. So now tell me how that is....... |

I disagree with your Miller reply.... not many teams are looking for goalies at the trade deadline. esp ones who are already contending for a playoff spot |

We were competitive recently. He realized that he failed to put a cup team together based on our lack of elite talent. Best way to get elite talent is that the top of the draft... This is the plan |

u ever wonder how the franchises could be different if the sabres just drafted one or two spots higher in the 83 draft. two hall of famers were taken before barasso. |

Oh, I think he should be gone. I just think your top three are actually not the worst things he's done.
He should have been gone after letting the entire team go to Arbitration. And then picking the wrong ones to sign long term...Who gets it that wrong twice? |

SO if he failed, and has failed before, why is he still here. If this were a different GM I would be all for this, but I do not trust Darcy. To be honest i could give a flying *** what the on ice product is this season, just as long as he is not here. |
