Did you ever hear the Fan morning guys with their 'No, no, nonono, no' rap they did on one of his dumb ass play calls?. I liked him commenting on radio back when, he's f'n awful doing play by play... at least hes not Ken Thrower and Curle's "sweeet victory" on the Hitmen games... Thrower makes me puke in my mouth every time I listen to the games... - geta02it
I cringe at the thought of Peter Maher retiring |

There's also the "wacking, wacking, wacking" one as well. They do good job of making fun of him for sure. |

Thanks, I am aware. And, that's the KHL, not the NHL. - bixll
agreed...it's a total different world
don't be using stats from the KHL LOL
not that I disagree - but I think Ramo will get a shot to see what he's really got eventually
I think it was smart for the Flames to let him break in slowly...he's still adjusting to the NHL ice, scheduling and skill level!
The coaches can see how he's progressing even in practice before feeding him to the wolves (or in his case the sharks) |

While Joey Mac's numbers aren't that great, to say nobody likes him is wrong. I think the team plays really well in front of him (or has thus far). A lot to be said for that! - The-O-G
Hmmm maybe I should reword that, nearly everyone is sick of Hartleys hard on for Joey mac. I understand he is more NHL proven. Hartley said the winning goal tender plays on, then joey made a few highlight reel saves and still lost and his whole MO changes. The goalie that he wanted to play played not the goalie that won..
Ramo needs a fair shake this year, we are most likely winning nothing so lets keep working towards the rebuild goal instead of the old try for 8th.

I think that sends the wrong message. He's in there winning, battling, why not roll him? The season is 82 games man. Although I agree there's more potential in Ramo, and I also would like to see him in there more, there's nothing wrong with letting Joey pile a few wins up. |

Joey has put up some pretty consistent number as a backup and short period as a starter on some pretty bad teams. I know he not Dryden or Roy, but he is one of 70-or 80 guys that gets a chance to play in the NHL as a tender. Pretty damn good. He is also a friend of mine. |

There is an excitement in the city with this team and their work ethic. For them to stop competing in order to increase the chances of drawing the high draft ball in the lottery would piss me and most fans off. Playoffs here we come! |

Its nice knowing both (at least today) can play and win most nights with the team playing as well as they are in front of them... look at those poor saps up north. Crap shoot every night and now that Hall's out?!?!? Fracked man, fracked and not the NB protest kind |

Cammi! You guys see how animated he was on the bench last night. Right now, I hope they resign him for another 3 years so he can keep mentoring the kids and win faceoffs for us. |

Im not saying we have to lose, I am saying we need to find out what we have before we start competing. That is the goal otherwise why try and "rebuild", this year should be used as much as possible to see what we have in all our pieces. |

Agreed! If he truly wants to stay you sign him to an extension in a heartbeat. We'll have a number of options at the deadline for sure. |

And just because I think he is a backup goalie doesn't mean I am saying he shouldn't play in the NHL, or that he is a bad person. There are guys like Mcgatts who will never in his life exceed the 4th line...
It seems to me like he will be given as much if not more opportunity to prove he could be #1. If he does, great! I would love to have a #1 but the one thing I don't want to do is waste time trying to force something if it isn't there and then end up with no #1 2-3 years down the road and have to give up a Yak to try and grab a miller.

I am pretty sure he doesn't care what any of the fans call him, as long as he gets his one way deal renewed.. With team anyone after this year. He just wants to play. |
