I started by saying that trading Yak is a terrible idea. That the only player out there worth getting would be someone his caliber but younger. I think for the Aves, this might make sense due to their still low defensive depth and the fact that I think duby is more desirable for them than Giggy due to the age thing. As for the Oil Duby has been less than consistent. Two SO for Giggy on a team who might be the only one in the league with worst D than the oil is pretty good (mind you their forwards play a big defensive game).

Regardless, my point was that Yak's problem is due to coaching. He needs a chance to play with less pressure on a consistent line with at least one player that can keep up to him. He needs ice time and his confidence back. Which I think once he gets it, there will be no end to his streak. But if we do trade him, we don't have the salary room to go with a player older so it has to be a rookie and Mackinnon is the only choice. Which I am really hoping we don't do.

Also I think Belov is terrible. I think the fact that he is occupying top 4 minutes and getting PP time is part of the reason we are doing so bad. I swear that guy has the best accuracy in the world and is intentionally aiming at goalies with his slap shot. It's the only thing that makes sense. It's a bullet and not one goalie has made it look tough to stop.

Oh and as for a D prospect. We have too many to play. Someone like Davidson or Gernat that will probably never make the team just due to the simple fact that the Oilers have better guys to develop. One of those. Not Marincin, Fedun, Klefbom or Nurse. Three of those are the reason we shouldn't have drafted a D this year. If they all work out, 5 years down the road, where is Nurse playing when Justin, Klefbom, Petry, Marincin, Fedun and Nurse make up the D for the Team? Personally I see the lines in that order and Gernat could have taken Nurse's spot, where as Nichuskin is currently playing in the NHL and not doing too bad either.

Good episode.

Thinks they are gay married and immoral. Dee brings it up the best something like "He waited until she had it removed, you didn't, that makes you gay Mac."

I have to rewatch the entire series. I haven't seen anything since the episode "The Dayman Cometh" when Charlie puts on the musical show.

Give us Monahan... (frank)- Feaster is looking genious these days- good for Flames Have to be one of the biggest surprises this season thus far... same with the oilers but for the wrong reasons/direction
- saskoil21

Flames are smoke and mirrors right now. With out the pp clicking at an unreal rate and solid goaltending they would be terrible.

The Oilers are not gonna deal Yakapov the season is just beggining.... We need a Defencemen but all our defencemen on our team are over paided so idk whats going to happen. Would really like to see Tyler Myers in a Oilers uniform. We need size on the blue line.
- McMeckan14

If you're worried about overpaid defensemen then you're barking up the wrong tree with Myers.

The trade is a good one. Brown was made useless this off season. No team needs 3 fighters. There are NHL Caliber guys out there to sign. I think this was a move to free up a contract spot. I am wondering if it is not for a more solid backup. Trying Bryzgalov instead of Labarebera? Small risk if you do a 1 year 1 million dollar offer. Has to be better for Bryz than playing in the ECHL.

At some point this is going to open the door for Omark or Jones. Arguably NHL caliber players. They play a different game than Brown but in theory they should be better offensive players.

As for Yak. It would be sad to trade a guy that hasn't really had much of a shot this year or last. When he did get a shot last year he capitalized. Now he is playing on a dismal team with a new coach who has put all sorts of pressure on the 19 year old to perform. Pressure that is not put on any other player with maybe the exception of Acrobello. We would not get the value he is worth right now. We don't have the cap room for any better player and with the exception of Mackinnon I can't think of a rookie I would rather have.

Now if we can make that happen

Yak
Duby
A strong D prospect
Belov

Mackinnon
Gigure

I would be happy with that. COL has tons of Centers. They need wingers. Varlamov is their goalie of choice but Giguere has 2 SO already this year. Belov is good but he just takes slap shots with no accuracy. I don't know that he is better than the guys we have in the AHL. I do know that we can replace him with a guy almost as good if not better from our numerous off season signings. Edmonton needs a center in a bad way, Giguere allows us an experienced tender and this gives us salary room to sign Bryz as a back up. Allowing for two improvements to our goalie spots.

How about their HORRIBLE pk numbers?

My guess is their pp will take a step back but their PK should step way up.

End result: the wins keep piling up

I'm not knocking them. They are making the best with what they've got. Just not sure if I see it as sustainable.

I dunno if this has been posted but its been confirmed that Hall is out for 4 weeks with his knee.
- RatedR80

Hall is injury prone. It is pretty sad, but I have 0 confidence in his ability to stay healthy. I kind of feel the same about RNH.

At least the Nuge seems to have a head on him, more of a thinker of the game.

Hall is just a tornado out there.

Put the bath salts down buddy! You are out to lunch on Belov! Here's a tip....until recently.....the whole team was playing terrible! Your complaining about a guy that's never played on the smaller ice surface before ......from another continent, trying to learning our language and understand what's going on......and was arguably a bit of a question mark as to weather he'd even make the team this year....and missed most of preseason because of travel visa issues.....and yet has managed to make it into the top 4 to his credit and poses to only get much better as time goes by and he gets comfortable.......and after a grueling whole 9 games.....your ready to "call in the dogs and piss on the fire"........Are you Fcukin Nutz!

This guy has a (frank)ing thumb injury and he can't skate?
