I think the guys on the morning show said it best. With Hall out you probably look to put someone with more scoring touch on the 4th. Sounds like Brown probably was going to be waived eventually, so good deal.

Brown wasn't providing much of an impact unfortunately. I just hope we get to see a Gazdic vs Brown match up soon.

Rumor has it that Hall has level 1-2 MCL Injury.

No. Just... no.

Firstly, I don't think the Avs have any interest in trading MacKinnon away at all. Secondly, I don't see the Oilers that keen on giving up Yak, especially in a lopsided package such as that. You want MacT to trade a 1st overall pick that's struggling of late, a mid-range starter that has struggled up until lately, a grade-A D prospect, and one of our top-4 Dmen for this year's 1st overall pick (who'll likely have VERY similar struggles to the ones Yak is dealing with now next season) and an arguably 1B goaltender that's 36? And for what? Help at a position that we don't really need help at anymore (Nuge, Gagner, Arco, and Gordon will suffice for top-9 C depth)?

Suffice to say I don't understand you.

I started by saying that trading Yak is a terrible idea. That the only player out there worth getting would be someone his caliber but younger. I think for the Aves, this might make sense due to their still low defensive depth and the fact that I think duby is more desirable for them than Giggy due to the age thing. As for the Oil Duby has been less than consistent. Two SO for Giggy on a team who might be the only one in the league with worst D than the oil is pretty good (mind you their forwards play a big defensive game).

Regardless, my point was that Yak's problem is due to coaching. He needs a chance to play with less pressure on a consistent line with at least one player that can keep up to him. He needs ice time and his confidence back. Which I think once he gets it, there will be no end to his streak. But if we do trade him, we don't have the salary room to go with a player older so it has to be a rookie and Mackinnon is the only choice. Which I am really hoping we don't do.

Also I think Belov is terrible. I think the fact that he is occupying top 4 minutes and getting PP time is part of the reason we are doing so bad. I swear that guy has the best accuracy in the world and is intentionally aiming at goalies with his slap shot. It's the only thing that makes sense. It's a bullet and not one goalie has made it look tough to stop.

Oh and as for a D prospect. We have too many to play. Someone like Davidson or Gernat that will probably never make the team just due to the simple fact that the Oilers have better guys to develop. One of those. Not Marincin, Fedun, Klefbom or Nurse. Three of those are the reason we shouldn't have drafted a D this year. If they all work out, 5 years down the road, where is Nurse playing when Justin, Klefbom, Petry, Marincin, Fedun and Nurse make up the D for the Team? Personally I see the lines in that order and Gernat could have taken Nurse's spot, where as Nichuskin is currently playing in the NHL and not doing too bad either.

He gets PP time with all-star calibre players. Yak's problem is Yak, not coaches, not teammates and not who he is playing against.

He'll get out of the funk eventually, but enough of the freaking excuses for this kid.

Nurse looked a thousand times better than those other 3 guys you mention with him. I'm predicting he will be our version of Weber/Pronger/"insert big name dman here". Davidson has developed nicely and is a victim of the depth charts. He will be getting his shot soon.

Marincin and Gernat need at least another solid year in the AHL. Fedun is another depth chart victim too.

Why are you so negative and why do you continuously post novels for your comments?

If you want Nichuskin so bad, go cheer for Dallas.

And this is why you masturbate, because with stupid proposals no one wants to do it for you.

I doubt Yak would be moved soon especially since Gagner, Hall, Smyth and possible Eberle all out of the line up tomorrow

If the oil absolutely had to make a trade I would rather trade Hall at the deadline, especially if yak gets his poop together. I just think Hall is going to get injured a lot and I believe Nail Yakupov will be a pure sniper. Plus I like the way he gets pissed and takes runs and players

- Killbot460

Unfortunately this... I like Hall too but the injuries and man games lost being so young is a great concern... Yak is built like a freight train and he hits anything that moves when desires...

He's our best player and has a rare ability to control the flow of play that NONE of our other players possess and he also scored at an above PPG pace.

Correction Eberle is our best player...

As someone pointed out on twitter- with Hall out- the oilers might win more games... I am not sure that I completely agree- but you never know they could end up being right...
