Yeah... a little refining could lead to Letang could making an impact on the PP.

I haven't watched as many games as I like, so I have to ask... has Maatta seen time on the PP at all?

He gets time on the 2nd unit. Don't know if that changes once Letang is back

wasn't that great of a move...

Oh, I am a huge MacKinnon fan, been following him for years, but he seemed to think it was an excellent move.

I think I saw him get a single shift on the 2nd unit, but it might have been one of those "6 seconds left on the PP and we've got a faceoff in the neutral zone so the PP is all but over anyway" situations.

That was the kind of game where they needed someone from the 3rd or 4th line to chip one in and they don't have that kind of depth at the moment.

Give credit to the Avs... I was at the game last night and I couldn't help but thinking I was watching the Rangers under Torts on the PK. They just packed it in and didn't let shots get through.

Somebody said it earlier, It reminded me of the playoff series with the Bruins... Only working one side of the ice is a problem. I think Letang would have helped in that regard too.

Or if they keep him with the team. I've heard a lot from the media but I haven't heard anything from the Pens. Guess they have until Friday to make that decision. Sounds like he's staying though.

I would be very surprised if it is not on Friday, the Penguins next game.

Maatta has had some PP time. He's easy to spot because he hits the net from the blueline.

It's comical how that's true. He had a couple good rips. I'd like to see more.

Martin is generally a very good distributor and so you don't expect his shot to be his most valuable asset. It's not a bad one but they were pressing Malkin all night. I wouldn't mind seeing him take a few more and getting Kunitz and Crosby down low respectively.

Niskanen is all they have as a right handed option which is fine but It'd be real nice to have Letang and Bennett back. Heck, while they're still out give Bortuzzo a crack at it once. I know it's more likely to let them work out the kinks but that PP work was dreadful. He played very well last night again.

you would've won if you had different looks on PP

Fair point. I don't generally notice him. Every time I see a shot actually hitting the net from the blueline, I assume it's Martin. Even if it's not that strong of a shot.

They did use different looks, specifically towards the end of the game when they operated from the left side. Problem is a lack of righties, not lacking different looks.

I said it last night, Dupuis has played that left point position on the PP well when given the chance. I'd like to see how it looks with him in Niskanen's spot. Although with Letang coming back i guess it's a moot point.

Giguere knew what they were doing before they did. His positioning was outstanding all night.

I only saw bits and pieces, but Giguere was really dialed in.

Sid has to get back to that off the net tip in when the tender is so hot. It was working great until he got hurt.

He will score 4 or 5 points in a game soon to make up for this pronlonged scoring drought he's going through. It's just what he does.

Anybody else getting deja vu watching Harry Z flying down the boards only to rip a shot high and wide off the glass and out of the zone? How he and Conner get playing time over Jeffrey is amazing.

I have no problem with Harry Z playing over Dustin Jeffrey at all.
