I'm Serious......this time.
I don't care if the Sabres win the lottery. Darcy will find a way to pick the dud in the draft, or trade it away for more draft picks - RynoBull
Well when that said pick is never given a chance to play with this teams "Top end Talent"... |

Grigs was scouted as #3 from NHL central scouting. Top 3 talent taken 12th. - RynoBull
I'm aware. I also am not close to giving up on him. But it's not like we drafted 1st overall and Darcy chose Grigorenko over a concensus number 1 |

its interesting that two different coaches don't think he is good enough to do so.

I hate sticking up for Darcy, however the only top 5 pick he had he chose you're soul mate (Vanek) which I would say is a pretty succesful pick - sbroads24
I do agree with you here, Its like saying oh Garth snow is a real good gm no you suck |

Grigorenko's stock also fell when his work ethic came into question along with his skating. Not really the hallmark of a top 3 pick. |

I think it is curious that 7/11 teams decided on D-men that year instead of drafting top 3 scoring talent. |

Yes, And those 2 coaches. Lindy Ruff, Who was known to play favorites and have a bias. Who is also currently struggling in Dallas.
Ron Rolston who has 8 wins in 41 games coahced.
Not a very good argument if that is the side you chose. |

It's also easy for a GM to come in and build a team around elite talent.
Case in point Bowman in CHI. That team was pretty easy to complete with Kane and Toews already there. Yet he is viewed as an excellent GM. |

Right, he had red flags. We knew that when we drafted him. We also drafted Girgensons that year. I'm missing the point you're making here? |

At the same time, look at Edmonton. They have had elite talent up there for quite a while now, and they're still looking for an identity. That's because there's "elite talent" and then there's the ability to take over a game and mask your team's shortcomings. Unfortunately, it seems that this draft is going to be full of the former, and not the latter. |

Look, I am far from convinced that Grigorenko will make a difference in the top 6. However, at this point, there's no harm in trying it, if even just to say "I told you so". It's the one option they haven't tried yet. |

Its always coaches fault. Fire Rolston. It certainly isn't the talent on the ice.
Vanek Sucks, But Notgoodenoughrenko hasn't been given a fair shot.
Anyone think that he doesn't get top line minutes because he looks like crap in practice too? OR is it that Ronnie says to himself "you know Grigs looks aweome out there but I know better. I'll stick him on the 4th line to because I can't mix Russians and Austrians. Ever since the assasination of Umar Israilov its touch and go between Tommy and Micky"

Kane and Toews >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hall, RNH, Yak
Add in guys like Keith, Seabrook who were already drafted as well and I would say Bowman had it pretty easily.
That's where Darcy has had it tough. He has not had the benefit of being able to work around elite talent. |

I can also show a long list of late round picks that were vital in their cup wins |

Apparently he is just not good enough, even though he has never played top line minutes, and when he is having a good game he is dropped to teh fourth line anyways.
Again I will say this entire team is just not a good fit together. The team is a bunch of missing pieces on teams competeing fot the cup that were thrown together.
There is no harm in playing Grigorenko with Vanek and Hodgson or Ott. |

Of course, but they don't win the cup without 19 or 88. This is where Bowman had an advantage |

Yeah but also remember the fan base had some rough years in there so its not like we are the only team to have a few bad years before becoming good. THink of this When Roenick Left who was their "Super Stars" had Chelios and .................... |

There was no harm in playing Luke Adam on the top line. However it definitely didnt have a positive effect on his career either |

That's my point though, and why I hate the fact that this is the year that they are tanking. I doubt they'll be this bad next year. They'll be bad, but not bad enough to get a lottery pick in 2015. The talent in this draft will be good at the top. The Sabres will get a guy that might be fun to watch, and even get some people around the league talking, but not that will win you much in the long run. |

Right of course. My point is that whoever takes Darcy's job, if hes fired, should be set up quite nicely by Regeirs failures |

Which we found out by putting it into practice. Right now, everything on Grigorenko is just theory, because we haven't seen anything. |
