Well why would you take Seabrook over Myers than if they are similar? I'm curious - Cheeseballin
Because Seabrook is a little better. Not mountains better as you are leading me to think |

Defensively he is much better. Guess that is just my opinion though. - Cheeseballin
Take a look at some of the forwards he plays with. He's got plenty of two way forwards, including Jonathan Toews of all people.
Serious question, do you think Seabrooks numbers would be very good if he played for the Sabres the last two years? I really don't think they would. Especially if he played with Weber or Sulzer. |

Right. Personally I would bet Myers ends up the better player, but right now if I needed a defensemen this year Seabrook is the guy. He's really good. |

I agree. The team as a whole (hole) sucks . and that is working . finally they got it . |

We would need 5 players playing better this year to make this team better. 1 won't do it imo. |

Of course his +/- would take a hit. The guy is consistantly at the top of the league in blocked shots not afraid to throw his body around. Overall just so much more consistent than Myers who is all over the place. |

I'll prolly take a lot of flak for this...BUUUUT...I still like Myers. He has a HUGE upside, shows flashes of greatness (which are often overlooked), and can be a top line D-man for our team as we rebuild......He just needs to find his confidence again..that brashness that he played with when he was a rookie. Its like someone told him "great rookie year, now you need to get serious about hockey and stop having fun". Just look at Zadarov...I realize its only been one game..but the dude goes out there and just has fun playing hockey..plays like he owns the (frank)ing ice. WHEN Myers decides to adopt that same mentality...he will be a top 5 D-man in the league. |

He's an excellent player. But Myers has been too. Just not recently |

Occam's razor dude. This team sucks because the talent isn't there. Even if they were all super try hards they win maybe 2, 3 games extra tops. It's still not a very good team. Most of the D-men will get better with age but even though guys like Larsson, Flynn and Girgensons show "heart", they just don't have the talent level to carry the offense.
We need someone with a mixture of both. Armia and Grigorenko have talent both of them have had their work ethic questioned at one point (Grigorenko more so than Armia). |

Myers needs another year and we will start seeing the stats grow. Remember a team thing . It's not just Myers . We can tear apart everyone on the roster. Glad i'm content with the team tanking . just wish they went full blown youngsters. and lock Roston in the showers for a period or 3. |

We lost Roy and Pommer. We have real young talent that could pass them by on the stat sheet. but not at this rate we are going . |

As far as the forwards go, I see two guys with that kind of talent and one of them is in serious trouble (I know it's early). |

They need a full season skating together. Ones that aren't cutting it ? boot them.

Grigorenko and Armia. Girgensons will end up being a fan favourite but in reality he'll be at best a 2nd line centre (though with his work ethic it's highly likely he reaches that potential). |

Catenacci IMO is a nice 2nd 3rd line player with the speed we need |

Forgot about Armia . From what everyone says he is a Vanek clone with more drive. |

Forget in the sense that "don't worry" or forget in the sense that "he should be dealt immediately"?
Vanek with more drive sounds appealing. |
