I agree I'd rather take Reinhart. Darcy would never trade our first, too risky for him and after that offseason speech about stockpiling high draft picks, It's not happening.

Then you should be in favour of what's going on right now. If they keep this up for the next 2-3 years, you may have your wish.

To your first part, It doesn't really matter who's running the team if they pick 1st overall. Doesn't take skill to take the guy everyone is talking about and Darcy usually plays it safe so I doubt he'd pull some next poop and take someone ahead of McDavid. As for the franchise trade, it certainly would be nice.

That's over 17 Millions of salary off the books. With the 8 million or so we have now that's 25 million. Plus the salary cap goes up. Any chance they make a push for top end free agents. Keep in mind I'm expecting Darcy and RR gone.

They wouldnt do that straight up. Also I highly doubt Regeir moves Myers. He wants to prove to people he wasn't wrong about him. Plus he's playing much better lately

Only good thing is he is locked up for years . He could shake the dumb slump , with the rest of the team. It would be worth it . Remember the Defense takes more time . We are a impatient bunch, us Sabres fans .

He's sucked for a "franchise" defensemen. Not for a "defensemen".
This is the part of his criticism that is annoying. Yes his 40 games last year sucked, but look at his numbers for the last 3 years, they have been that of a 2nd or 3rd defensemen

If the sabres are in the group of people that believe this years top 5 is very weak then maybe trading the 2014 pick for a guy like yakupov isn't such a bad idea.

There's a case to be made that he's better than any forward in the draft. With the odds of drafting 1st overall at just 25%, I'd seriously consider dealing the pick if it meant bringing in someone like Yakupov.

And Yakapov wasn't being dressed lately. I think you are over valuing him a bit. Yes first overall pick talent and all that comes with it. Myers contract isn't a bad contract to be trading. 5.5 million when the cap is going to be close to 70 mil again isn't bad. He isn't Luongo he is only 23. Yes it's easy to look at the negatives cause we are terrible but to say Myers straight up wouldn't get us close isn't right IMO.
