We need someone willing to go to the net, and just stand there. If Hartz, and Simmonds are the only ones willing to do that, then we need more help. I see too many shots from the outside, and nobody in front of the goalie. You can shoot all you want like that, and run up the shot totals, but as you can see, you don't score a lot.
I also noticed, that once they get into the offensive zone, the guys like to shoot once, and then back off; either going for a line change or into D mode. There is no pressure on the other D.
In our end, we scramble around because nobody knows who to cover. Just stick with a guy, and let the other players adjust their positioning. They have to quit leaving the guy to someone else who is not moving, and trying to figure out their positioning. I really feel for Mason, and Razor right now. Their numbers really don't reflect how they have been playing.

Lots of room for this team to improve. No net presence, and too many shots from poor angles and the outside. Too much running around in their own end. All can be fixed in my opinion. Hopefully they can get some things ironed out on this break.

berube recognizes the need for the team to play faster and kimmo thought their skating has been slacking for a couple of seasons now, so there are some positives there moving fowards.

unfortunately, the brass wasn't as quick to recognize these issues as they were in SJ...a similar kind of re-tool is needed or else they'll just be a team that has to fight for a plyoff spot.

6-say break for a 1-7 team, the most self-deulded team in the city just put a crap show up against its biggest rival, and the college basketball team has a lot of players no one's ever heard of. Not much to talk about.

Can you pay a player as a player and coach and have only his player salary count, MJL?

we all knew the eagles were a re-build, but nobody thought foles could make vick look like Brady by comparison.

I'm not an Eagles fan (I like the team that beat the muderer's fan club), but my oh my, he was terrible. Could have easily had 2-3 TDs in the first half. The one to Avant...just awful.

Well, we COULD incorporate the two. At least TNT is no longer the goal song.

True, but there were a few passes (Avant being a good example) where he had a clear passing lane, and a wide open receiver in the end zone, and just McNabbed it.

How much of a re-tool was there in SJ? They added Hertl, who they drafted and Tyler Kennedy.

Glad Homer hasn't made a panic trade and shipped off any of our young futures , but I think if they come off this week break and crap the bed again after a few more games, heads will roll and Homer WILL make a panic move to try and save his job...Can you imagine if we lose next to games and are a 1-9? yikes

The band I happen to like is better than the band you happen to like and the band I happen to dislike is worse than the band you happen to dislike.

I just saw the Briere concussion. It's really sad what has happened to him in the last couple of years.

I'd rather. For instance, can the Flyers rebuild post-Pronger the way St. Louis and Anaheim have?

Take a guy like Timonen this year for example. If you want him to be a mentor to work with the guys in practice (NHL or AHL players) based on his experience, but you also want him playing. Can you pay him for 2 different positions, one a player and one non-player?

Hopefully it's more like them, and less like Edmonton.

I would say no. That's obvious Cap circumvention.

Miss the playoffs 5 of the next 7 seasons and never make it out of the first round? They already have.

It would help to attain a package equivalent to Lupul, Sbisa, and 2 first rounders to help that process.

Instead we have LTIR dollars

Future's bright in St. Louis now. I meant, have patience with the youth, playoffs or no playoffs.

Flyers want playoff monies.
