well it's the same defence as last year for the most part. same forwards too, just a few out with booboos.
- DoubleDown

the difference between Briere and Ryder is pretty apparent though

I thought he was out of position a lot, got muscled off the puck, nervous on offense but he does have some nice vision. Boullion was bad.
- Pie

it was disturbing how out-muscled and out-physical'd Montreal was by a team that soft. they just get softer and softer every year,

Just wanted to chuck this out there, but I think the Oil Kings really appreciated Lars Eller comparing them to a pro team.

Way to go Lars!

Fair enough.

And for the record, I really do wash them in my mom's basement.

very. I think Tinordi has to play no matter what. Would much rather see him out there learning than Diaz Boullion etc. I feel the same way about Beaulieu too.

Briere certainly was a mystery but the only one that really bugs me is DDs contract and I guess its hind sight for the most part

yes. if we're going to be bad to mediocre, i would like to see Beaulieu and Tinordi in the lineup full time. but i doubt it. Therrien likes to lean on his vets.

think about this for ten seconds before you decide to chime in again

the oilers just learned they have lost hall for a month.. they have come out of the gates flat and have had very little positivity to start the year

they were on a low

and when you are in a place like that sometimes all it takes is a comment from the right person to shake it off and give a team purpose again

i wouldnt be overly shocked to see the oilers actually go on a bit of a run now

remember when the habs got beat 6-0 by the leafs.. same thing.. they were embarrassed and tore up the entire league for the next month and a half

If the Oilers need that to show up every night, Eakins is going to be in a poopload of trouble all season.

Not what he's saying. He's just saying that something like that can help. He's right that it can help, but he's wrong that it had anything to do with the Oilers waking up in the second period because of it. All IMO of course.

fair point but i think most of us felt that 4 years was a bit much. the Briere and DD signings were bad. everything else he's done has been meh. Prust was a good addition but at this point, he's not looking like a guy you can count on to be in the lineup regularly. every other move has been a depth move (Bouillon, Murray, Parros). i like what he's done in keeping/adding picks and replenishing the under-20 pipeline, but i'm also waiting for him to put his stamp on the NHL club at some point.

.@keegangary Eakins took Eller's "unstructured" comment to be a personal slap at him. I suspect he was more offended than his team #Habs

yea pie sure

It's not the Habs way. Even last year with Galchenyuk.

i agree. anyone who watched that first period was thinking "Eller was right, this is a junior team". both Montreal goals were the result of Edmonton just playing shinny and tossing it up the middle (the first penalty and the Gally goal). i don't think Eakins revealed the comment to a stunned Oiler team in the first intermission...

I was at the game last night, Bell Center felt like a church for a funeral.

As for the rest, as far as people go on poopting on Desharnais (not without reason), I was looking at our 5M$ silent captain last night. He looks done.

They were also horrible in their own zone, I've never witness so many odd-man rushes in one game...good thing the Oilers fumbled a couple of them because it could have been ugly.

Price's pads really looked like they were made with the stuff they use for superballs last night.
