Interesting. Marty (I hate Lundqvist) Brodeur said as much in the preseason. When commenting about the new goalie equipment and Hank.

I truly hope Marty HATES Hank, that kind of passion is what makes this rivalry exciting!

Devils are back on track and with Schneider in net now, they may never lose a game again.

"Forget all he's done?" What has he done? Hasn't won a Cup and hasn't won the conference championship. But how convenient to overlook these "non-accomplishments" as trivial.
- Crushers68

Devils fans are so pathetically petty, if Hank came in at the same age as Fatso he'd end up with the same stats if not better but that's only relevant to fatty right?

For whatever reason, its def a fact that Marty is sore towards Hank & the Rangers in general. Maybe its that even though he & the Devils have won 3 Cups, the Rangers get more attention, have more fans, no one besides a few die hards care about the Devils? Idk, but his radar is always up when it comes to Hank. Could it be he is still upset that like almost 10 years ago Hank was supposedly "rude" toward the great Brodeur at that first NHL awards they were at together? Stay tuned.

I like Dano hes honest and doesn't come off as a Homer. Maloney and Goring are awful but Goring isn't on the panel anymore. We still get the luxury of hearing him every game though, but Chico I find is the funniest of all.

With the Kreider call-up, NYR assigned Michael St. Croix to their AHL team in Hartford up from the ECHL.

alright guys, i might be a broken record, but i think we really need to relax a little and look at this squad from a large perspective. using injuries as an excuse is lame, but a lot of our struggles so far have come from arguably our 3 best offensive players/players that determine our identity being injured, along with our youth that we assumed would step into the lineup and contribute totally flopping so far.

AV has yet to been given a fair shake with a healthy roster. when cally plays, the difference in this team is night and day compared to when he doesn't. i think we're all forgetting how much of an impact hagelin's speed provides when he's in the lineup as well. and nash's impact is self-explanatory.

would any coach really be able to coach a winning hockey team with the forwards we iced last game? especially in only 7 games with a brand new team? torts coached practically the same roster last year only a bunch of the players were more familiar and he didn't have as many injuries and the players that didn't perform last year under him (boyle, pyatt, powe, asham, etc.) are all playing like crap and not performing under AV either. torts barely had success with the roster last year after having half of it familiar with him for 4 years, and AV is struggling with the same roster -- a lot less talented, actually -- and he's only had 7 games with them.

i understand that a coach needs to get the best out of his players, and that we can pin the blame on AV for not calling up kreider or kristo early enough, and that injuries is a lame excuse that every team has to overcome, but seriously just look at the roster we iced against the devils lol. people were calling for miller to be called up because he was killing it in the AHL, and now he has been for a couple games, and has done absolutely nothing.

as easy as it is to blame AV, at some point, the blame has to go to the players. the young kids need to get their poop together and the veterans filling in for cally, hags, and nash need to start producing. remember, torts had very minimal success with basically the same roster last year, so i'm not sure it's as much of a coaching problem as it is a totally untalented roster.

He won a Vezina & has been nominated what, 4 other times? He has singlehandedly been the reason the Rangers have had any success the last 4-5 years.

He also holds the record for consecutive 30 win seasons as well, I believe.

this was the roster iced last game:
Brad Richards-Derick Brassard-Mats Zuccarello
Benoit Pouliot-Derek Stepan-J.T. Miller
Taylor Pyatt-Brian Boyle-Jesper Fast
Darroll Powe-Dominic Moore-Derek Dorsett

this is what the 2013-14 NYR really should look like:
Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Kreider - Richards - Callahan
Pouliot - Brassard - Zuccarello/Miller
Mashinter/Boyle - Moore - Dorsett

the differences in talent in those lineups and depth and scoring ability is night and day to me.

The only difference, for me, is that one lineup won't score during the day and the other won't score at night...

rangerdanger94,

but we blamed Torts for losing to the Bruins despite Marc Staal being out, Anton Stralman missing last two games (and being forced to play Hamrlik), Callahan and Hagelin playing with torn labrums and Brad Richards being out of shape all season

using injuries as an excuse only is allowed when you like the coach, like i always say

touche but you have to admit that the latter is an NHL team and the former is an AHL team...maybe.

i have full faith in AV being able to get the latter to net 3+ goals a night consistently, to be honest. but that falls on kreider actually making plays, stepan regaining his form from last year, richards continuing his play, nash being nash, brassard/zuccarello/pouliot being able to finally bury the puck, and callahan and hagelin being healthy and playing like they do.

obviously for all of that to happen would be asking a lot, but if even half of that happens, we're a much more dangerous team. of course, hank has to keep the puck out of the net for us to have a chance to win.

#NYR Hour into practice and Vigneault putting the Rangers through some extended skating drills/sprints

We need him to turn into Herb Brooks and just start yelling AGAIN for about the next 6 hours.

What happens to those that don't say Mike Eruzione, Team USA?
