If they are going to totally suck, better of sucking next year. Ekblad and Reinhart are excellent players, but I am not sure if either of them will be the guaranteed superstars type number 1 picks. In short, I am not sure either one of them is worth blowing a whole season over. Next year, is altogether different. Just win the Cup this year, and tank next.

there may not be a choice. If Nash doesn't play soon and Lundqvist has some issue that's going to affect him long term, we may go downhill fast.

This season looks like we'll be hearing this, sometime in June:

"With the first pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, the Rangers proudly select..."

Not gonna lie, I am pretty excited for Thursday's game seeing Kreider get some legit top 6 minutes and powerplay time

It could be a really good game with two rested teams who've been struggling going hard for a win against each other. Or it could be a dreckfest between two dreadful teams.

I'll be annoyed if Henrik doesn't play just because I get annoyed when I don't see another team's best players.

Considering they way the rangers season has gone so far, I expect Talbot to be in net.

Frans Neilsen just delivered a clear as day head shot and Goring the fans and the Isles coaches are flipping out, they're pissed because it was called an elbow but he got him with a shoulder to the head

Edit:the refs just gave them a call back on a weak dive

I'm in 103-4-4, may be a few minutes late. Having dinner with the Pres. (I was invited to be on the Fan Advisory Board, our first meeting is pregame Thurs.)

I know its just hearsay, but ive been hearing whispers of Nash's concussion being career ending. The fact that this is even being discussed is depressing.

yeah, that's definitely depressing

and Islander fan friend of mine told me when the Rangers acquired Nash it was "the Lindros trade all over again"

Of course I scoffed at that, but, maybe it was a bit prophetic

worst case scenario, if Rick Nash retires, it's only a 200K cap hit per year, similar to what the Devils have with Kovalchuk right now

I have this little feeling it's called a contract issue. Get Hank resigned and watch him wake up with an easier feeling on his mind.

I just read the article. It totally sucks. I was super excited that the Rangers traded for Nash. He was a good fit for the team (size, strenght, some grit, and super skills), but that deal has bit the team in the butt in the worst possible ways.

1. Sather traded Dubi, Artem, and Tim Erixson for Nash.
2. Sather traded Gaborik because the Rangers had Nash.
3. Nash will more than likely never be the player he was. One hard hit and he is done; ala Lindros.

Actually, the way things are going right now, all the Rangers UFA's won't be getting big raises, either. That may be a good thing, no?

if it keeps going this way and we ultimately become sellers, not that far fetched at this point, I'd say market value for these guys is:

Dan Girardi: 1st and 2nd rounder
Ryan Callahan: 1st and 2nd rounder
Anton Stralman: 2nd rounder
Brian Boyle: 3rd rounder
Taylor Pyatt: 5th rounder
Benoit Pouliot: 5th or 6th rounder
Dominic Moore: 6th rounder

I don't even want to speculate about Lundqvist's trade value, because I just can't see it ever happening.

Derrick Brassard is a RFA after the season, he probably could fetch a first if it came down to it
