if i was the gm of an opposing team, i would offer more to get yak than murray. even though edm scouts wanted murray, ownership decided to pick yak. i think it's a wise pick for asset management towards the future.

It seems that Oiler fans want to keep all of their assets when they could see one of the top kids bring back players that wilk make the team better. Have their cake and eat it to type thing. It just won't work that way in thw NHL.

can't trade yak yet. have to build his value. i personally think if ryan can get a young stud, prospect, and 1st pick. yak could get there too or more.

I think everyone would be ok seeing someone like Yak go but what is coming back the other way would have to be outstanding. MacT basically said the same thing.

Don't get married to players. I already said on 27 March you're going to kiss Yakupov or Eberle goodbye eventually with Yakupov being the most likely. He's a luxury you can afford to lose in order to get what this team needs. Still think the same today, the key is just to get the timing and the return right.

And if MacT was ever crazy enough to offer Yak for Reimer...the Leafs would HAVE to jump all over it. I like Reimer and I think he is important to the Leafs but Yak's potential means you have to take that deal...that being said...it would NEVER be offered.

And Reimer definitely wouldn't qualify as outstanding return. The Leafs and Oilers are NOT trade partners that fit in any Yak deal...so other teams might be, but not the Leafs at present.
