Murray has always loved the big deal. He understands that you have to pay to get what you want. He has never struck me as being the guy who has to win every deal.

He took Conacher and a 4th for Bishop. Conacher ended up being tied as Ottawa's leading scorer at the end of last year. Fair payment.

I really like the Oiler team. But, a young team cannot maintain its confidence if it keeps surrendering soft goals.

He could, but is Yak or Eberle, or Petry/Schultz + good prospect worth it? I don't think you're getting Lehner out of there for much less.

I don't know what Anderson would cost but its generally not a good bet to give up a solid player or two for non-elite goalies. Smid or N. Schultz plus something nice like a 1st round pick if Ottawa adds on their end. That's probably what'll it take because they don't have much of a reason to break up a goalie tandem that's been crucial to their success.

Different situations I guess. OTT doesn't need the prospects like VAN did. Gillis was kinda (frank)ed in the first place with the difficulty in moving Luongo's long term contract. Murray isn't desperate to move either guy, and I'd suspect they'd try to make a package for a quality defenseman of sorts.

Young player struggling, not producing, run of bad luck, reluctance on his part to change his game all bundled up into a kinda crappy situation. On the bright side, he did just turn 20.

You want to know why our PK sucks just look at the forwards on the PK. Hemsky is third on the team for PK time.

Look at our roster and see if you can come up with 6 guys you'd be comfortable with on the PK, I bet it gets a little difficult after Gordon and Acton.

Dreger is so tightly wrapped around Nonis' Richard he would have to be surgically removed. Dreger has become a puppet. He's a shill for the leafs, nothing more. His credibility has never been questioned more than it has in the past year. His peers thing he's a joke.

I'm not really stoked on Acton's penalty killing ability to begin with. Smyth's been passable.

He has some time to fix some of his issues. I don't know if this is just his style, but Dubynk looks like he never makes clean saves. At the beginning of the game, to me, he didn't look good at all. He definitely got better as the game went though

Until the trade deadline approaches I think Dubs and Labs is what we will have to put up with. Hope Dubs can keep on improving game by game and get back to some semblance of good goaltending. What the Oil really need is to bolster their defense and make the team a bit more credible all around. If they keep on losing the way they are the season will be over for them sooner than later.

He's kind of awkward, but he's had games where he makes unreal saves out of nowhere. I don't care much about goaltending style personally, as long its adaptable to stopping pucks. Maybe Dubnyk has some physical and mental limitations that will keep him from becoming elite, or even an above average 60+ game guy, or even a consistently solid starter but somehow he's performed well enough to get the point in his career where that next level is at least possible.
