I love all the Toronto fans complaining about dirty plays when they still have lumberjack Phil wearing a blue and white jersey up there. For all the questionable hits Kaleta has had none was so black and white wrong as phil's slash fest and spear. That was a pathetic move and everone knows it.

Anybody want Jay Rosehill? How about Downie or Car Bomb? Until the league gets serious about protecting the players, the GM's will continue to see a need for goons. I don't blame Shanny too much, because it's the league that is pulling his strings. When he first took his position, he was handing out suspensions, and fees left, and right, Now, he is iffy at best on what he is going to do. I hate it when my team trades/drafts goons, and lets them run loose. I understand a hard, and clean hitter, but these guys are out of control. Also, cut down on the slashings. How many hand injuries must sideline players before the league steps in; this goes for the "stars" as well. Take their playing time away, along with their money, and they might actually listen. However, it goes back to the owners, and league on how they want to handle this situation. To repeat, I don't mind a hard hit, but when players do a stupid hit, then you have to let them know regardless of if a penalty is called or not. I know that hockey is a faster sport, and players are in better shape now, but if we want our players around a longer time, then we had better change the way we do things in the league.

Who cares!?
Let's talk about the 2014 Draft Class...it's October, and the season is over!

They should get Reinhart and Virtanen. If Miller and Vanek are traded, bundle the firsts we get from each of them and move up to 12ish to select Virtanen.

It wasn't his finest moment, but there is a major difference between PK81 and PK36. For one, PK81 can play. For two, PK36 has NUMEROUS offences to his name.

Dont think ive ever seen pk turtle.
- Doug1967

.his reputation as a turtle started in the AHL. I watched him in Rochester and he rurtled constantly. There were tons of times he got challenged and turtled

As far as lapierre I can't stand him and I m a habs fan. I hated him back then. The hit looked worse because Boyle was losing his balance before the hit. wienerhead made it worse with the push from behind. Kaleta targeted the head intentionally soi have no problem with the suspensions

re:Lapierre hit on Boyle-if u slow down the play u see that it wasnt a direct hit from behind rather more from the side unfortunately Boyle was in a precarious position at point of contact.its a fast game especially when u take the skate guards off

Finally, the voice of reason. It was an irresponsible hit on a vulnerable player, but it was not from behind and Boyle absolutely saw him coming. Hell, it wasn't even the worst hit in the game. Wingels elbowed Jackman squarely in the jaw behind the Blues net a few minutes earlier and Burns tried to drive Morrow through the boards head first later in the game. The league had the audacity to suggest that Morrow tried to reverse Burns and just lost the battle to a larger, stronger player, yet the replay shows he had no way of seeing him coming because he was intercepting the puck at the boards. Shameful. Lapierre got the 5 games he deserved and Burns and Wingels got jack poop.
