I'm a little confused why everyone is arguing about what Kronwall did. I agree that his last-second pivot ended up making the hit much worse than it would have been otherwise, but even if he had continued skating, there was never a point when McLeod saw anything but his numbers. This was going to be boarding no matter what Kronwall did. It might not have been as dirty as they're making it out to be, but it was reckless either way.

I love how some of the homer mental midget Hawk fans always use this stupid cliche. Kronwall does not hit people from behind. He is however an awesome hitter. If he's on the ice and you have your head down he will make you pay like any good hitter will. If he played for the Hawks you'd be singing a different tune. |

I see where everyone is coming from with this "never saw anything but his numbers" argument but what is a forechecker supposed to do when chasing a puck into the corner? Let the D just have the puck? Typically, the puck goes to the corner, the D and the forechecker race to the puck, whoever gets there first tries to make a play and more often than not takes a hit. Watch any replay of a dump and chase situation, the forechecker usually has a pretty good view of the digits…

I totally agree. I'm a little surprised by this to a point since most Hawk fans are pretty knowledgable bunch. I see some of that on Mark's blog from a Nucks fan. I guess it only takes a few. What it reminds me is when one makes a good clean hit (in any game) the other side tries to go after the person making the hit. I don't believe it was always that way. How about trying to make a good clean hit rhe other way. Part of the pussification of the game I guess. |

I don't believe "dirty" or "clean" applies. I think it was "careless" by BOTH players. Krons has admitted his fault, rightfully so, by putting himself in a very bad position. McLeod did have time to read the play and make a better choice.
I believe the problem with additional discipline is they only seem to focus on an incident when a player is hurt and/or in this case, taken off the ice on a stretcher. As a Wings fan I think back to when Shea Weber took Z's head with his hand and slammed it into the glass/boards WWE style. Weber didn't get a suspension, but had Z been hurt and taken off the ice on a stretcher it would have been a different story. I think that's the main reason why McLeod is facing what he is....

Sure leaving your feet is a clean hit homer. Hardly, I hated Marchment when he was with the Hawks for his chickenpoop sticking his leg out poop. |

He leaves his feet. I love it though, especially now that he's moved out East |

Your stupid "karma is a b**ch" statement implies that he deserves to get hit from behind and deserves the hit. So you're basically condoning that kind of hit. That is what I take issue with. If I saw Marchment receive a dirty knee-on-knee hit from somebody I sure as heck would not condone it. |

It's kind of funny how some people predicted the "tough and physical" eastern conference would make life hard for the Wings. That's turned out to be complete nonsense. |
