If they trade out the young talent on this team for a vanek or something like that. I am done.

After last night I won't be watching for awhile

Like someone else said, stop going to the games

I'll gladly stop going to the games if someone would like to reimburse me for my season tix.

I dont mind a trade every now and again, but there has to be some sort of stability...

Let guys develop properly. Look at the Blues.. perfect mix of patience, drafting well, and smart moves by the GM at the right time. They are gonna be a very good team for a lonnggg time.

- jak521

The blues are a great example. I just don't know if the flyers have that kind of patience with their win now attitude. I like that we have a lot of young prospects finally. I hope I see a shift in building a young team and accepting the growing pains without panic moves that help now but put you back where you are now in a couple years. If our top guys were playing smart and getting points and we were losing because we are a young developing team that would be fine, problem is I don't think they are at that level yet. For some reason they went backwards. Thankfully they have an early week long break to regroup.

i think cousins should be our next call up he played well in pre-season and showed some good offense
- flyer186

If he's ready then sure, but I don't want to rush players who need more seasoning to a struggling team where they will find frustration.

and it took a lonnggg time for it to come about as well. this owner would never wait that long. i like the DET model...puck possession, skill team; superior scouting ;patient w/ prospects; big signings/trades are usually made to put them over the hump.

in short, we need a new culture.

- isaiah520

We absolutely need a new culture. We need patience and belief from the top of the org.

I like Homer. But watching him over the past few years.. It seems as though he never has faith in his own moves. Trading players after signing them to long contracts. Trading guys after they dont get their careers off to a blazing start. Saying one thing and doing another. We need to have a stable, confident and patient leader at the top. We dont have that.

Agreed. It makes it more entertaining when you think they, at least, have a chance.

Why would a team spending more money than the other 29 teams in the NHL have a chance? Unrealistic expectations.

Gotta save up for the next buyout. He's already paying Laviolette, Bryz, & Briere to not play for/coach the team.

As it currently stands, it's obvious that they don't have enough talent to compete.

Their young guys aren't ready to step up. It's obvious that Couturier and Schenn aren't going to develop on the same lines as, say, Giroux did.

The franchise and fans either need to be patient or deal with the notion that trades will happen for veteran guys.

After watching Giroux last night it is obvious he has taken a step back. He may be be hurt but it seems to be more than that. You can blame his linemates or something.

To me it seems that his compete level has decreased, at least from a grit standpoint. He doesn't go to the greasy areas anymore. At least not so far this season. He isn't making things happen like he used to. He hasn't been IMPOSING himself on the play. He just sort of floats around on the perimeter.

I'm not sure what his problem is, and I expect it will change. But it does have to change fast.

he almost got lucky w/ the pronger trade, but that's when things went awry after a great start to his tenure, because we still were unsettled in goal...the rest is history.

Perimeter is the perfect synonym for Giroux right now. He's playing cautious. It's uncharacteristic for him which is why I think he will snap out of it. Problem is you need him to play with other guys with confidence and Voracek doesn't have it either yet

I think G put a lot of pressure on himself to prove to everyone that last year was a fluke and when it didn't go well it started to snowball for him. He's still young too with brand new contract just being signed and the team is struggling and he was recently appointed captain, the list goes on. I don't have any doubts about Giroux as a player or leader and he just needs to gain some confidence and get a cheap goal. He can't do that without going to the net.

Joe, your transformation on this site from bryz defender to org skeptic has been...uh...striking
- isaiah520

I'm a realist... And I want the team to win, do not enjoy cracking on this team... If this continues I won't be here trolling because last night I started to get disgusted.

As for bryzgalov ... His first year he showed me something's that afforded my faith in him but as time went on he have me nothing so... This of you who wre skeptical were right however I felt not all the problems and goals were his fault as is the case with mason ... But again bryzgalov became his own worst enemy here...

Well then I'm going to use the tickets that I paid my hard-earned money on. But I can't really fault people who don't want to buy tix that don't already have them. The Phillies have shown that common Philadelphia fan is a total front-runner, so once they get good again, people will go back to falling over each other for tickets.

I think Mason has outplayed Bryz. But even if it's an even trade-off between them, the salary/term is much more preferable with Mason.

People who bought the tickets ought a just go enjoy the game... I'm gonna buy tickets to A game this year just cause my kids get pumped going but I will spend my money on food somewhere besides the stadium ... I usually love some beer and crab fries but I can fill up before I go ... Save me bout a buck fifty too
