Why do the Jets want to trade Byfuglien if he is so good?
- Briere

They've been bringing along stud D men for some time...Bogosian, Enstrom, now Trouba. I don't think they're necessarily looking to trade Buff, but they could do it given the depth there if they think they can improve their team with the deal(imo).

The teams current state has the "negative nancies" looking like fools.

Makes sense then. Buff for Coburn I could live with. I do NOT want to give up Voracek.

Coburn baffles me. He was (hopefully still is) a damn good Dman. What the hell happened?
- Briere

Right now the problem with Coburn is that he plays well for most of the game. But then when he makes an error, it winds up in the back of the net. He needs to find a way to eliminate the individual errors he makes.

Sounds like another former Flyers defenseman.

Winnipeg surely won't accept Coburn for Buff straight up. They would probably ask for Laughton as well.

My positives through 7 or 8 games have been B Schenn and Mason. I like Gus on D. I like what I see from Raffl and McGinn. G will figure it out. You can build around these guys I beleive but it's going to take patience.

You know what. On the Crosby goal, Crosby makes a good play and lifts his stick, and the puck squirts out. I've always considered defense a team game. Good defensive teams cover up for a turnover. Watch Luke Schenn on the play. Yea, Coburn turns it over, but go to the replay and watch exactly what Luke Schenn does on the play. And how he stops moving his feet, and gets himself completely out of position on the play, and is unable to do anything. Most goals there is more then one goat.

Totally Coburn's fault. A REAL defenseman would have made the save, and then done an end-to-end rush, scored a goal, and then suplexed the entire Penguins team.

I would be more open to Byfuglien if we didn't just sign Streit to the contract we did.

Luke Schenn was a spectator on that goal and the main reason Crosby was wide open.

Hey, he once played a lot of minutes well. It was all Coburn's fault.

Only two games tonight? On a Friday? Really? What the hell am I going to do all night?

Seriously, that seems odd.

An also watch Giroux lazily slash Kunitz on the play, and stop skating, and then just drift around, not really covering anybody. But hey, he was in perfect position to help Mason get the puck out of the net, after the goal was scored. Same with Schenn. Yea, Coburn turned the puck over, but if you watch the play, Coburn was busting it and trying to make a play. So you can blame him, and I'm not saying he doesn't deserve any culpability on the play. But whose effort on that play are you most appalled by? I know my answer, and it's not Coburn.

Oh come on. He's big, and looks funny, and has little offensive output statistically. How can you NOT blame him solely?

Plus he had a bad season last year, so we're allowed to rip him everytime he does something wrong. We almost have a fi-douche-iary duty to rip him.

Love it, after having a hell of a game (goal aside) against Florida, in the 3rd he had a rolling puck bounce over his stick. The "COME ON COBURN!" and "YOU SUCK COBURN!" calls made me literally laugh out loud.

Edit: Actually, the best part of that game was the Jersey Shore guy beating his chest at me after the game for telling him and his little princess to shut the F up in consecutive order following him doing an "E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!" chant outside.

Question for fans:
If the Flyers were guaranteed to win a Cup, but it would consist partially of a few guys like Avery, Barnaby, and Kasparitis, would you be upset?

- jmatchett383

Like we don't already have a couple of players that are universally despised outside of Philly? Hartnell and Rinaldo come to mind.

Now, here's the real question... if trading Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn, Morin, Laughton, Mason, Hagg and Couturier for Sidney Crosby would guarantee the Flyers a Cup.... could you watch the Cup celebration w/o vomiting all over yourself?
