yup, one moment of stupidity

he's done for the year

- Dozzer

No, but he's human. This was a benefit of the doubt not afforded to Reimer as each person around here rushed to declare Bernier a future HOFer.

I don't particularly care if a good, young goalie makes a mistake or two. But we all need to calm down with the hero worship. This is textbook Toronto misfortune: rush to declare somebody the savior, then wonder why they aren't meeting our eexpectations all the time.

This was definitely a lesson in humility.

If Eklund got paid a dollar for every "LOL, it looks like Jesus boy is finished. Bernier 4 Sochi!" comment on this site, he could retire a millionaire.

Now, the ordained Sochi starter is struggling and "Jesus boy" can't come riding to the rescue. It's going to be a painful few days around here.

I really like both goalies, but yeah I thought after three games it was a little over-the-top.

Hopefully Reims is okay, but on the other hand if he's out this is exactly where having two 1G can save your ass.

even guys like Roy, and Belfour, and Hasek, and Bower, and Dryden, etc have had miscued plays

i dont think this mistake should have any sway in an overall assessment of the player

poop luck.. thats all that was

I guess technically the refs made the right call but this is why the rule is horribly flawed. One guy is calling the icing, another guy is waiving it off, as a player how are you supposed to know what's going on?
- Jeffmt

they didnt make the right call... everytime 2 players are close for the puck they blow it down... ive seen the exact reverse situation happen to the leafs already this year and they blow it down... its bullpoop

its the faceoff dot, not top of the circle.

You realize both are a split second away at realtime when you're on the ice... right?

past history... and those in the corner with a clear view (mcgill and hendricks) said his neck snapped back pretty bad.... couldn't really see that on the angle the TV had.

lets put this to rest

the whistle is NOT to be blown if there is even a remotely competitive race to the puck

there is no way you can tell me the defender had separated himself from the forward for that to be considered for the no touch icing

The one where Roy held up his glove to show he had it but didn't in the Wings game!!

And Quick earlier this year.

at the faceoff dot there was no clear winner

If the race for the puck is too close to determine by the time the first Player reaches the end zone face-off dots, icing shall be called.

Seen that exactly play 50 time this year already...

Of course a Habs fan is first at finding the video where Reimer gets clipped in the head. Why am I not surprised?

Yes, but I can't help but wonder what the reaction would be around here had that been Reimer. I'm just getting sick of all the "Bernier would have had that" BS lately.

It's worse than the advanced stats crap that gets tossed around by the Corsi fans. There are so many tiny variables in a game that it's impossible to tell the hypothetical outcome.

In truth, we just need to stop worrying about who's in net and just focus on the fact that we have two very talented young goalies who will struggle at times, just like all veterans.

I couldn't care less about that ugly goal in the long run, but I hope this puts a bullet in the inane knee-jerk reactions.

Wrong, if it looks to be a tie, the call is made in favor of the defending team.

3 Riemer could have stopped it from the locker room but he was in the quiet room unfortunately
