Hmmmmm I thought we all went through this. Cause Reimer is an RFA next summer. If Bernier becomes the undisputed #1 goalie, Reims may not want to stay in TO. And even if he wants to stay with the Leafs, he's going to want a raise, probably up to $2.5 mill per. With the Leafs having alot of UFA's & RFA's to sign, with the top priority being to keep Dion, do u really think the Leafs can afford to give Reims a raise to be a backup? Good thing is that Reimer is an RFA & not a UFA so the Leafs have till the beginning of next season to get the best deal for him.

A lot of its there... I'd say one, its mega, borderline looney bin early to say a guy who in his first ever 3rd game in a row was decidedly mediocre the reigns as a number one. The last time they Leafs won a cup, they had two very capable goalies, if they wouldn't pay Reimer 2.5 million who are they gonna get to back up Bernier? So if Bernier gets injured a top flight leaf team is gonna roll with some nobody? There's still 75 games to go boys, look at how many teams made rash decisions on a golie being the guy who wasn't proven and the crap that they had to deal with. Roll with both, make the choice in the offseason, it's way too risky to go into the playoffs knowing that if Bernier goes down there's some bum on the bench - no thanks.
