Vanek is pretty bad a$$. Too bad his contract isn't, except of course if you're Vanek. |

Stanton's first career goal! Grab dat puck!
Very nice pickup, gotta give MG and his scout(s) props this year for bringing in good depth players. |

I don't disagree but I really think we should wait until they've had good showings against decent teams wouldn't you say? That at least gives some semblance of the playoffs, which is the only true gauge I'm taking when evaluating these players. We've played some real tire-kicker teams thus far this season and it's made a lot of the team look pretty good. |

For sure, but again the downfall we against good teams is the lack of a legit second lie, the depth/role players are outperforming their contracts so far. |

In the playoffs you take scoring where you can get it. It's not just the 2nd line that was an issue but each of our bottom 3. I haven't seen our bottom 3 lines this season (or even our top line to be honest) play well against SJ or MTL. Playoff teams have to be our measuring stick I would think. |

In theory, if you acquired a legit top 6 forward and once you add in a healthy Burrows, it would bump down everyone to where they should be. |

Pittsburgh game at 9:30 in the morning Saturday.
That could be ugly, but we do get Edler back. |

Yes I agree but what do we lose to get that top 6 forward? Can we afford to lose what ever we are putting in trade? |
