Soft goals can deflate a team, but if you're 0-6 the motivation to finally win a game should overcome the soft goals. As you said, it took until the third period for the team to realize they were in danger of losing the game.

Need to be desperate every shift for every loose puck when your on a losing streak this bad. How they aren't like this yet blows me away. Most disappointing thing is the whole team attitude and demeanor. Wish they would show they actually cared instead of continually saying they do.

I hang up the phone guess we are different there. I didn't mean it to make you sound like you were less of fan. But more that you might not get how much Marty has meant to the state itself. Most of the franchise's success is because of his contributions and without the success hockey as a sport would of never grown in NJ. He has meant a lot outside of the rink besides all of his on ice contributions.

No I understand that in a sense that I can't actually know how much he has meant to the people of NJ because I don't live there. But things like this upset people for such a short period of time especially when you have a reliable replacement waiting in the wings. Packers fans where crushed when Favr left but not for long because Rogers made it all better ( different situations I know ) but I get the vibe that Marty has been a bit sour since Schneider has gotten here from the things I have read it just seems to me that he isn't taking being reoplaced well and it's knew for him so it's understandable. I know no one is going to agree on everything and You and I have shown to have a lot in common with opinions in such so it doesn't upset me if You disagree with me or vice versa or anyone it's expected. Glad no ego's have been bruised. I just look at like this without Marty being Marty i'm not sure how big hockey gets in NJ. That seems to be the case. Marty has gotten the easier teams IMO and the team has shown up and he hasn't then Schneider has gotten the tougher teams and gives us a hell of a chance to win but the team doesn't show up. I honestly hope we extend him the second we are allowed to.

He benched tallinder last year... well deserved BC he sucks something awful...but he should be doing that. Bench a vet, put a young guy in his spot, piss the vet off enough so he busts his ass to earn that spot. Show some heart. Even if Pete isn't showing fire I am surprised Stevens isn't busting skulls in the dressing room I can imagine him getting a good chuckle out of Salvador being captain if he was still playing he likely would of fought him in the room by now for constantly saying stupid things and just being all around garbage.

I wouldn't call what they are doing when Marty in as showing up but definitely better than what Cory's gotten. The team has not played good however hard they try and make you think they are. They haven been average at times and for most part just plain bad. And yeah if Lou wussy foots around and doesn't extend a guy that needs to im gonna lose it.

i have no problem with sending pete deboer packing, the question i have is how does lou continue to keep his job. yes he is a hall of famer, but that was a long time ago. since the lost season, what exactly has he done to improve this team. are best players walk away with nothing in return, he then panics and overpays for washed up players. since the lost season his drafts have been horrible, and when we do get a good player, they seem to be required to spend years at albany for seasoning. its time for ownership to send uncle lou to the retirement village and bring in someone with new young ideas.

The thing that gets me and I know Lou keeps thinks close lipped but why are we not involved in any rumors other then the fact that everyone running this team must be pretty damn happy with what they have seen. I mean you would think after last night we would of started to hear rumblings but its been quiet as a mouse. I also find at weird that Mark Fayne has been sitting and that isn't causing any rumors. There should at least be whispers of things to come but nothing from everything I have dug up.

I am glad Schneider is getting the start he needs to be getting a lot more. He at least gives us a shot to win every night no matter who else shows up. Hopefully his line changes mean bringing a kid up or taking Volchenkov out for Fayne but if anything Larsson will come out and Fayne will go in.

Thats exactly what I was thinking because a vet can't come out in Pete's book who would get caught all game and take stupid penalties if we took a vet out and had Larsson, Fayne in at the same time.

I wish we played every day so it would speed up this whole change thing that is desperately needed. It is going to take far to long with no back to backs for a bit. I haven't checked so hopefully one comes up so we can lose them both.
