I personally would rather see Hall and Rosehill sit a nd Newberry sent back down - nastyflyergirl
Makes sense to me. Where is it written your 4th line has to be made up of fringe NHLers getting less than 10 minutes per game? Especially when NONE of the lines on the team are getting the job done. |

jack johnson was available wasn't he? he's a perennial all star compared to what we're rolling out now. and let's not forget the JVR/carle fiasco...someday you'll be forced to admit it - isaiah520
Forced to admit what?
You don't know that Jack Johnson was available and offered to the Flyers. I don't consider the JVR deal a fiasco. I like the deal. And how many were fine with letting Carle walk? Now he's the savior? |

This season could look completely different right now if shots through got form the point or weren't always going wide... |

Streit is average in his own end, but I think we all knew that already. The problem I have is he's not even remotely getting the job done in the offensive zone. Granted, the entire team looks pretty friggin bad there, but that's supposed to be his specialty.
I bench Simmonds and Read before I send Raffl and McGinn back down to the AHL. Read is having a real problem just getting a puck to the net, he's either missing it altogether or the puck is getting blocked. And Simmonds just looks like the game is way too fast for him. I'm not sure what happened to him, but he really doesn't look like he belongs in the NHL this year. - wolfhounds
i still see those 2 guys as talented and able to fill their roles perfectly. i would take either of them gladly. i really dont know why its not translating |

That was annoying as well. That easily could have been a call on the Pens #12 for "hooking", just like the first "hooking" penalty the refs called 1 minute into the game.
The Flyers are bad enough, we don't need inconsistent calls or a point in the game where "they put the whistles away." |

I think Streit is doing exactly what he was brought in to do here. He handles the puck well and makes smart outlets. The entire team is struggling offensively. Not going to get a lot out of an offensive defenseman with a team averaging less then 2 goals a game. He's not Bobby Orr or Paul Coffey that is going to make a difference all by himself.

Hartnell-G-Jake
Schenn-Bunny-Simmonds
McGinn/Raffl-Couturier-Read
McGinn/Raffle-Talbot-Rinaldo
altho I will admit part of me would like to see what G and bunny would do on a line and keep Schenn at center. |

when the puck got an inch from the line and they didn't get it out...it was a matter of waiting for it to end up the net. |

Read is trying and struggling, the classic gripping his stick too tight. I get that. But Simmonds looks awkward as hell, half drunk, and has a really hard time controlling the puck. That I don't get. |

I won't concede he's "doing exactly what he was brought in to do", but you make reasonable points.
Still, FRUSTRATING! |

I've noticed that there's been a lot of empty seats at the games lately, not surprised since they sucked but it's a bit early in the season - Yosimar89
It's not even that, the crowd sucks. A guy was yelling at them after the second goal, nothing offensive, and the usher told him to keep it down.... |

what? that it was a poor value trade. i know that was your initial reaction and it was the correct one...and you and i were carle advocates, so that argument is DOA.
just draft a guy like hamilton and this team would be in better shape. imagine him, JVR, carle and maybe laughton here... |

he is always going to be a slow guy, and never going to be the greatest defender. in the moments in which he does his game, he has looked good. he got one on the powerplay, can call it fluky or what but still, thats what you need when you are slumping. he almost had another parked in front of fleury. im just unsure as to why he deviates from that power game.
id give you guys niskanen for read in a heartbeat |

Luke Schenn had 17mins of ice time and Gus had over 20....awesome glad we traded our 2nd overall pick for a bottom pair D-man. |

he should be at the front of the list as far as i am concerned. the great players make those around them better. i keep hearing all of this he needs jagr stuff. he shouldnt need a winger to prop him up. i understand it does help, but still. the best find ways to do it, making those around him better in the process. |
